Playing Favorites (Sale Edition)
If you’re planning to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, here are a few road-tested items you might want to look at first. It’s nice to see some of my personal favorites making an appearance in the sale!
How serendipitous is this?? 💛 My favorite yellow sandals from Eileen Fisher are included!!! If yellow isn’t your thing, there are other colors available as well.
And another of my favorite shoe styles is also among the sale items. These are available in several colors. I wear mine regularly both at home and for quick errands. They’re really comfortable, even in the heat!
(Sizing note, they stretch out a little bit with wear, so you’ll want them to have a snug fit initially.)
Someday we will travel again, and this lightweight-but-sturdy expandable tote can be used as a capacious carry-on “Personal Item” on most airlines. Or you can fold it up and stuff into your suitcase as an extra just-in-case bag for bringing home gifts and souvenirs. Other colors, too.
Also from Longchamp, this classic leather Le Pliage bag with a crossbody strap. I have this same style of bag and have found it’s a great option for a travel hand bag. (I recommend one of these purse organizers.) Four colors available.
I’m a body lotion junkie, and Creme de Corps is one of my favorites. It’s a bit spendy, so I usually wait for this sale to restock. That jumbo size bottle will last me almost a year!
Finally, a nice little travel-sized makeup brush set. Even if you don’t travel, these short-handled brushes are great for nearsighted folks like me who need to get up close to the mirror to see what they’re doing. 😆

Hi! I have that Longchamp bag and that looks like a great purse organizer. Which size do you use?
I purchased mine a few years back, but I believe it was the Medium. Best bet is to measure the dimensions of the bag, then select the organizer that has closest dimensions.
I am also a huge fan of the expandable Longchamp Pliage totes. They are not just for travel. As a teacher, I find that these are workhorses! I use them everyday and the fact that they zip up is great as they are waterproof. They also last forever!
The nylon purse organizers are handy but I’ve discovered that they work better in smaller handbags. They are too flimsy to be useful in large totes – that’s when I use the felt organizers. There is a huge selection on Amazon and other websites of both nylon and felt in many different sizes.
Thank you for providing inspiration for those of us that can use a little zip in our wardrobe. My girlfriend had on the Eileen Fisher simple cardi that I love but is sold out. I know you have recommended the J Crew cardigan but I’m afraid it will be oversized. I am a size 8 and am looking for something that will flatter my figure. Any recommendations would be welcome.
