Mad About The Boy, And Assorted Tidbits

Maquillage

There’s a new Boy in my life, Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in “Boy.” Armed with my new Light Summer palette and a list of color recommendations, I hit the mall on my lunch hour to try out some fresh maquillage. I’d read all the hype about this color last spring but had passed it by, thinking it would be too pink pour moi, but it’s really pretty on. I love the sheer formula of Rouge Coco Shine; if you’re a bit lipstick-averse but feel that you need a little color and aren’t crazy about glosses, I recommend you give these a try.

Le monsieur and I are running away this weekend for some much needed R&R. Destination to be revealed…

But don’t worry, petit monsieur et les chiens *will* have adult supervision and will be in good hands.

  1. Thank you so much for posting the link to the light summer colors. I hadn’t found that and am always searching for new make up that compliments. Glad to hear that you and Monsieur are able to have a private getaway. That’s just not possible for us and boy do we need it!

  2. Wishing you a romantic and relaxing getaway!

A sheerish lipcolour is my fave these days; gloss is too gloppy. I like Clinique Almost Lipstick, too.

When I am at work all day or out to dinner, I use one of the paint-ons like Cover Girl Outlast. hard on the lips but one can condition them. The only way to not have my lipstick vanish after two bites of food.

  3. Hello:
How exciting, some days away for two and a new colour on the lips. This sounds as if it will be a very special trip indeed. Enjoy. Vive le weekend!!!

  4. I get to run away for R & R next weekend! Have a wonderful time…you really have me desiring to have my colors done!!

  5. I remember you writing about the Chanel lipsticks earlier this year! I went and tried it – Boy was too pale. I got a more coral pink colour which suits the blonde hair.

Whenever I put it on, I have to think of you! 🙂

  6. It seems, that we are on the same color palette, only I have to choose darker shades : )
I´m really happy that you two get a weekend for yourselves.
It´s been a tough fall with all that´s been going on at your place.
Time to relax now : )!!

  7. Looks a lovely colour and I like the sound of the lipstick but not a gloss. And so pleased you have got “into” dresses… I find them so easy especially in the Winter with boots and a big scarf. You look great in yours. xx

  8. I’ve worn that lipstick since it came out. Sometimes, I put it over something with more color too. Hope you have a great weekend away.

  9. “Mad about the Boy” is one of the greatest songs ever, especially as sung by Julie London. And those lyrics take on extra meaning when you remember that it was written by Noel Coward.

Oh, and the lippy’s nice, too. 😉

  10. As long as I have been following you on my Google Reader, I can’t believe I wasn’t following you here on your blog site. I’ve rectified that, now, and hope you will forgive that oversight.I do so enjoy your blog.
