  1. Have loved my black velvet swing jacket for more years than I’ve had children. Wear it with jeans and a white tee or a pencil skirt and heels.

  2. I adore the velvet jacket you have shown here. I recently purchase a black velvet jacket after searching for years for one in retails stores. I found it, of course in a thrift shop.

I love the deep purple! Jon Bon Jovi often sports velvet jackets …and I must say he inspired my own search for one. Love them.

  3. It is definitely down to those last very hectic days before the holiday… I’ve always loved black velvet for special occasions, but have shied away from it in recent years and I’m not sure why!

You’ve put me in the mood again, and I’m wondering if there’s a velvet jacket somewhere in the back of my closet. I know there’s one in a deep ruby red with a little bit of a ruffle that just hangs softly. Beautiful over all black. (I’m going In Search Of…)

  4. Love the idea of a striped T. to balance my pear shape. Groovy jacket. That’s the one you were wearing earlier this week, right? I’d love to raid your closet, friend!

  5. What a gorgeous velvet jacket. You will get so much use out of it for years to come. Both ways that you styled it are perfection! Happy holidays.

  6. Falling in love with a garment is a wonderful moment; you see it as your BFF and it miraculously goes with everything. I think it would be a neat lesson to re-love a garment that once held such promise- we all have them languishing in our closets. And this one is stellar!

  7. I really admire your style and humor. I am 50ish with a passion for fashion, decorating and paris. I love reading your blog! Happy Holidays!

  8. Gorgeous ensembles – especially love the lace top and the Fluevogs. The asymmetric closure on the velvet blazer and its amazing colour are divine. Wishing you plenty of happiness amid all the hectic!

  9. Excellent styling, would definitely wear the Breton with jeans and velvet, and the shoes are the perfect height!
