Une femme doesn’t usually get very excited about Spring fashions, not being much of a florals/pastels/West Palm Beach Brights kind of girl. Fall is the season that really floats my boat, style-wise.
But a few sunshine bright accessories have caught my eye, and if you’re in the Not Ready For Lilly Pullitzer Club, adding a few touches of color to an otherwise neutral pallette can bring a little early printemps to your repertoire.
These sunny tangerine flats by Stuart Weitzman would look smashing with dark wash or white jeans. (Yes, I know for most of us it’s still too cold to wear these, but just think about that first warm day and how great it will feel to slip these on!)
This bag from Banana Republic is a great shade of orange which is surprisingly neutral (this bag would take a basic navy/white ensemble up several notches on the style scale!):
Oh yes, oh yes, oh yesssss! These accessories sing spring in the most delightful way. I can’t wear orange near my face (so the scarf wouldn’t do) but I love the bags and the shoes. It’s so dreary here right now that I love thinking about colour — you’ve put together a lovely assortment of inspirations — thanks!
Lovely. This must be the “year of the citrus” or something because I was idling away time last night with a decorating magazine (Coastal Living or some such thing) and one of their big features was on color and an amazing amount of space was devoted to, you guessed it, oranges. Now, I have to admit, it was definitely punchy and in a casual beach setting, makes a whole lot of sense (certainly more than white does, to my mind), but those accessories are just great — (putting “find orange something” on my shopping list for spring)
Love how thse choices pop and snap! Prefer orange to red as an accent. Have to watch it with black (can look like Halloween) but with grey, beige brown, navy- even with pink or red- wonderful. Saw a double-sided cashmere scarf, ecru on one side, orange on the other, yum.
Back to say that You Make My Day. I’ve linked to you and posted a You Make My Day award badge at my site, which you’re welcome to post here (and pass it along, if you want). Thanks for the continuing entertainment and inspiration
I have a lot of orange in my wardrobe as my husband’s college football team wears orange—it is a way I can be supportive. And, orange always reminds me of Hermes and that is a good thing.
As much as I love orange, I love red more. But, I think of orange as the red of spring and summer.
I think these would look great on other people. I don’t do well in orange at all – I don’t know why. Color of my hair, skin, whatever. Others can pull it off but it’s not for me. 🙂
Since spring doesn’t arrive in the great white Northeast for at least another 3 months – I have some time to ponder it. Right now I’m still looking at snow cover and wearing warm boots.
I am a late convert to orange. For years, I thought I couldn’t wear it, but I realized it looked particularly good on me when I was wearing hair “helpers” (read: falls/half wigs) of certain colors. Plus, Hermes always works.

Pass my credit card – I LOVE that Banana Republic bag.
Here via Blackbird – I’m looking forward to reading your tips on packing for Paris because I always feel very countrymouse when we visit.

Nice choices. I really like orange in general. It is indeed surprisingly neutral.
Beautiful choices! As a very red redhead I never wear orange, and I think I look sickly in it, but those shoes are to die for…

Orange is such a cheery color.

Love the flats! I found them in red patent last year for less than $80!
