Along The Seine: A Paris Travel Outfit | une femme d'un certain âge

Strolling Along The Seine

A Paris travel outfit: style and travel blogger Susan B. wears a black cotton top, jeans and wedge sandals. Details at une femme d'un certain age.

Au revoir, Paris…

We couldn’t have asked for better weather this last week. We spent a lot of time outdoors just walking and enjoying the scenery, which is one of the best ways to experience Paris.

It was warm enough on most days to forego a jacket, but not too hot for jeans. I was glad I’d packed some lightweight printed tops, and wore these most often.

You can see my travel wardrobe for the entire 2½ week trip HERE.

By the time this post is published, we’ll be on our way back to California. I’m always sad to leave Paris, but it will be good to be home.

I’ll have more beginning next week on where we stayed, what we ate, more Paris style trends, and a shopping tour. (Spoiler: I may have bought a few things…) And of course a recap of my travel wardrobe.

À la semaine prochaine!

Bon weekend!

I’m in Lyon right now and have enjoyed reading about your trip. We skipped Paris this time. Off to Mont Blanc tomorrow.

Love those sandals! I would be curious to know what items in your travel suitcase were workhorses and what you would like to replace next time. Overall happy with sneakers? Or not. That sort of thing. I am headed there in July. I have developed a problematical toe and my podiatrist says to not cancel plans and he will get me there! Take taxi’s and go first class, he highly recommends. I hope to stroll some!

I thought all of your outfits looked great. Loved all the print tops you wore, and the new sandals!

I especially like the sandals, as they are pretty and seem VERY comfy, even from first wearing. Looking at the picture of the sandals alone, I thought the wedge would be too high (for me, as I no longer wear more than a low heel) but they seem fine in terms of balance on those slippery cobblestones.

An iconic UF outfit, IMO:). Love the balance of pattern between the shoes and the top.

Did you launder your jeans during the trip? We were just in England and Ireland for 3 weeks and at the 2 week mark I felt like my jeans needed some freshening. My travel wardrobe looked similar to your except I took leggings and a couple of tunic tops and wore my riding boots on the plane. Leggings and an EF merino tunic and my Highland tartan wrap and boots Are my plane travel clothes. By the way, for my trip with some changeable weather and temperatures, my wool tartan was the workhorse. Because it is real, it is water resistant, warm, and can be styled many ways.
    Glad you had fun!

I bought that top back when you first showed it a couple years ago and I have enjoyed it very much!

We returned several days ago from three weeks in Europe, including a stay in London and then a cruise of Baltic ports. How to pack for varied weather is always a problem and I tried to cover all bases with layering, etc. Well it never rained once, and it got increasingly warm and sunny ending with an 85 degree day in Stockholm. Not complaining 🙂
I am new to this site but it really helped out and I was generally very pleased with what I brought. Ecco Soft 7 sneakers in grey suede I could walk miles in; Vionic “Caballo” flats in black snakeskin for dressy. Some dressy silk tops and Vince side-zipped pants for evenings. Various cotton knit tops for day over jeans (dark blue, black) and an olive utility jacket and lightweight black sweater (H&M). Wish I’d brought a few more scarves to vary the looks, and maybe a pair of tan pants.
