Polished…

One wardobe maintenance chore that I actually enjoy is polishing shoes. My father taught me how to polish shoes when I was about 8 years old. I’ve always found it a pleasant and satisfying task.
First I apply the polish to clean, dry leather in a circular motion. I find an old cotton sock makes an excellent applicator. I love the smell of the polish.

I pay special attention to the tip of the toes, the back of the heels, and any areas that might be scuffed. It looks quite dull at this point. I usually let dry/soak in for a few minutes.

Polish applied, waiting for next step.

I buff with a brush in long back-and-forth movements. This is the magic part…out comes the shine!
For deeper scuffs, I might dab a bit of this on.
