Program Notes

I’ve been a bit frustrated lately by lack of time to write the kind of posts I’d like to share here. I hope you’ll bear with me, but I’m bringing my philosophy of “fewer, but better” to the blog and may not be posting as frequently as I have been, at least in the near future.

That said, if there are any particular topics you’d love to see covered, let me know.  I get such great ideas and inspiration from your comments and feedback, and love the ongoing cyber-conversation!

One more housekeeping note: except for the direct amazon.com links, I don’t receive any compensation for any of the products or items I write about, and if I did, I would certainly indicate.  I don’t recommend or review anything I haven’t personally purchased and tried.  I do receive many solicitations to allow sponsored posts from third parties, but this blog is my “baby” and I’m not willing to do that.  Everything here is from my own hand (well, keyboard) and I intend to keep it that way.

  1. C’est tres triste! I so look forward to reading your blog in the morning while waiting for a hot libation. However, I would not want you to feel forced or constrained simply for me 🙂 I enjoy your varied topics and look forward to whatever you post in the future,

  2. Pseu, your blog is on my must read list and I enjoy the variety of topics that you tackle but the quality of your writing.
When it comes to quality, less is more, non?

  3. Your voice rings true (and unbought) in everything you write. Please post only when you wish; I’m (as ever) grateful for for your insight and expressive, natural writing.

  4. Really appreciate your fashion and make-up tips. I am from Boulder,Colorado and also spend a few months in Buenos Aires..totally opposite places! Love that you include photos and are willing to be the model! I am always trying to pare down my wardrobe to work everywhere and your tips help. Many thanks for your work. I read it several times a week! Best to you.

  5. I have enjoyed your posts, but understand the lack of time spent by the computer once in a while.
Naturally you post on things, events that interest yourself. Once in a while, it feels great to fulfill the needs of those, following your blog.

  6. My main reason for following a blog is a well rounded selection of topics. I could never follow a blog where the writer is so immersed in their own life they do nothing but post their outfits or what they had for breakfast.
Most importantly I can spot a fake a mile away. Blogging is inevitably about sharing yourself, your life and your perspective with others. Where the line between private and public is drawn is entirely up to the blogger. But whatever they ultimately decide to share, I expect it to not be deceptive.

  7. I given you the “Versatile Blogger” award on my blog. I love what you’re doing! Thanks and good luck.–Susan

  8. I second what the other posters have said, Pseau. We certainly appreciate quality over quantity in all forms. Thank you for your devotion to the blog!

  9. This is a good time for me to thank you. I have been reading your blog for about a year now. As I have been unemployed for over a year, it has been probably the better part of two years that I have made any major clothing purchases. Until recently. I have renewed hope that 2011 will present a job offer and so I am building a work wardrobe. I was really clueless about doing so, until I found you. I have learned so much about careful planning, determining what pieces I need, what colors and styles look best on me. And to not fear quality over quantity. I now have the beginnings of a work wardrobe that I am very pleased with. And I know, from reading your posts, how to carry on. Thank you for your guidance and inspiration and humor. I look forward to whatever you bring to us in the future. I will be grateful for it all support you in your need to conserve more time for yourself. Thank you again.

  10. Nothing new to add the mix here–I’ll continue to read your blog regardless of posting frequency.

I also find your reviews to be very helpful.

  11. Wow! I have continuosly been impressed by the sheer volume of your output, as well as the content…it shows a discipline that I could only aspire to, and on top of that it’s always incredibly readable, funny and informative…you owe yourself some downtime, and we owe you some freedom after all your great work. Have fun recharging, and come on back only if and when you just can’t stay away!

  12. Ooh, tough call for a narcissist like me: I enjoy your frequent posts, but your prolific nature puts me to shame!

I will stand by to collect the pearls that fall less frequently — you focus on taking care of yourself and getting inspired by life!

  13. metscan – thanks for your support. I’m still planning to post at least 2-3 times per week, just not my usual 4-5.

  15. I will continue to check and read, as I have for about the past year, and admire those who have the ability and voice to write well, as you do. And since you asked…..I have been inspired by you to remove those Hermes scarves from their orange boxes and along with their less expensive cousin scarves, add a touch of color to my wardrobe…but my question for you is…how do you store and sort your scarves? And more importantly, how do you know where the exact one you want is when it is time to retrieve the perfect accessory? Do you treat the Hermes/Chanel as you do a less pricey cousin? Do they get a trip to the cleaners once a year? Alors, cést tout pour ce soir, merci encore, ML

  16. merci, if you do a care of les foulards post, I have just one more question, raised this morning as I tied one on (a scarf of course!). What do you do with those pesky tags/labels on the corner edge…I assume on the better scarves you leave them on? and just try to tuck them in…on the Hermes they are less obtrusive than on some less expensive ones….just curious, et merci encore. ML

  17. ML – for designer scarves, I leave them on. If I ever decide to resell, it adds to the value. I often will do the initial bias fold with the tag to the inside. On my less expensive scarves, I have no problem removing those pesky large tags.
