Just a few items seen while out and about over the weekend that made le coeur d’une femme go pitty-pat:
Banana Republic merino ruffle sweater, $79.50. LOVE this aubergine color, and the ruffle adds visual interest without bulk. Remember if you are a BR card holder, Tuesdays are 10% off!
If I hadn’t just spent my next three months’ clothing budget shopping in Paris, I’d be all over this kate spade tote. It’s Chanel-esque but better: softer, lighter, a fraction of the price.
I normally don’t get excited about watches, especially “fashion” watches, but this Michael Kors tortoiseshell-look watch is fabulous! It’s a fun and modern alternative to a metal watch with just enough sparkle to lend a bit of “I might be an heiress” attitude to a simple, casual ensemble.

The cardigan is charming, I’d like multiples. The KS bag, with its exterior logo AND logo print interior (WHY?) evoked the opposite reaction. I’m with Kaylee, want your boots!

great watch! I’m curious to know how big it is, though — can’t get a sense of scale here. I have a MK stainless steel with bright blue wide band from last spring and I love it, but it does dwarf a small wrist — and I suspect yours is as small as (or smaller than) mine.
Kors does great watches — there are two or three every season that I salivate over.

Duchesse – when I saw the bag up close, it seemed to me the logo plate was very unobtrusive. That said, it’s a showy bag and not to everyone’s taste.
Nancy – the Talbot’s cardigan is more of a flat tuxedo pleat than a ruffle. But I didn’t buy the BR sweater, though it was tempting. Just wanted to show everyone another option that I liked.
Sal – it’s really a stunning piece.
Sher – it’s available online at Macy’s, Bloomingdales and Nordstroms. 😉
materfamilias – it is indeed a big piece. I’d always shied away from the really big watches for the same reason, until I saw a friend’s very large white ceramic watch on her wrist (about the same size as mine). It looked really cool and edgy, and made me more open to trying a larger watch.
Style Spy – I’m really liking his version of the all-white watch too.
metscan – I’m not doing a full-out ban, but am really trying to be very selective and limit my purchases. Even if I don’t buy, I’ll still shop and post what I like.
Mmmmm, mmmm am LOVING the bag particularly…. 🙂
I love the bag and actually think the watch might be nice (and I don’t tend to go for anything other than simple silver). And as for the last post….I want those boots! They look fantastic!

Temptations, temptations. So have you started your shopping ban yet? I have had to postpone mine ( lack of will power ) to starting from like now.. There is nothing stopping us to do virtual shopping and getting the kicks from what we save there, right! Since your blog is very much about clothes, fashion, I´d feel sad if you left those reviews out.
Anoninoz – I’ve seen the bag available in the kate spade shops, and also at Nordstrom. The diamond quilting seems to be a hot trend this fall, but other than Chanel bags, this is the best version I’ve seen.

Must say that great minds think alike, b/c I own a smaller version of the KS bag-mine is black and zips across the top. My eyes were drawn to it for some of the same reasons that you cited (looks like a certain covetable but unaffordable bag we know). It flirted with me from across the mall (and being so charming, I had to take it home with me). I have had it for a few weeks (I got it literally seconds after it hit the floor) and I still LOVE IT! In person, the KS name plate is barely noticeable and the interior lining (with logos) almost fades with the smart choice of being cream colored. Just wanted to weigh in, just in case anyone else is considering this bag.
oooh! i love that sweater. i just bought a blouse in M&S recently that has a very smiliar look. i don’t usually wear sweaters much, but i might make an exception in this case.
