Room With A View – Aix

Aix-en-Provence

We look out over a lovely little petit jardin. Last evening we had an apero with gorgeous blogger Leslie from La Fourchette S’Est Emballer. She is as delightful as you’d imagine from her blog!

We’ll be wandering around town and visiting the Cezanne museum today, more pictures to follow.

As a side note, as tempting as it was to bring, I decided to keep the load light, leave my DSLR at home, and rely on iphone photography. So far, so good, I think.

  1. Even just in those few shots it’s clear how different the light and the colours are from Paris. It’s more than 20 years since I was in Aix, but these photos evoke it for me. Wonderful fountains in that city — I remember doing a walking tour that was built around visiting them. I have a watercolour sketch I bought there of the Fountain of the Four dolphins . . . I’m sure you’ll spot it on your rounds.

  2. The iPhone shots are clear & lovely. It’s great you can meet your blogger friends for the first time. It says much about you and them.

  3. The terracotta buildings give things a lovely glow. Glad to know your carry-on commitment extended to the camera! One time my husband laid out all the plugs and chargers he travels with and they covered half the bed.
