Sporty casual with stripes and sneakers

One of the advantages of having a cohesive wardrobe is that you can do more with less. Being able to mix and match items from your wardrobe means you can create more variety with fewer pieces. (Here I’ve re-mixed some pieces I’ve shown before in other outfits.)

earrings | jacket | necklace | sweater | bracelet | jeans | sneakers (c/o)

One thing that’s really helped me build a cohesive wardrobe is to stick (mostly) to my seasonal color palette (Spring). Another way is to create a capsule of neutrals, and then add color as an accent.

The striped sweater adds a nice bit of color and pattern. This one’s almost sold out, here are some similar options:

Paul Green Demi sneakers with side zip. Details at une femme d'un certain age.

I’ve been a huge fan of Paul Green shoes for many years, so am delighted to share that I will be working with the brand from time to time. You can now shop their main website from the US, and get the best selection of styles. These Demi sneakers were gifted, and I love them so much! They’re amazingly comfortable, and that side zip makes for an easy on/off.

And…I’ll be launching my weekly newsletter very soon. If you’ve subscribed to get blog post updates, don’t worry, you’re already on the list! If not, and you’d like to subscribe, just click HERE.

I have similar sneakers from Waldlaufer with a zipper. I love them as well. Easy on and off.

Love you in that ivory! I have a pair of Paul Green shoes I’ve kept for something like 8 years. So comfortable, and distinctive.

A few weeks ago I bought the same utility jacket from Banana Republic. A Californian as well, I don’t often need the very heavy warm coats like those in the east. I love this look and plan on wearing that jacket with a cute sweater much like you have styled! Love the look!

Who is walking whom? I suppose you’ve noticed your sweet pup is in your color scheme.

I have striped sweaters in so many neutrals but not one single one in color. I’ll have to fox that. I love this whole look but it’s the shoes in that color that I would love to have. Cutest puppy. I just love dogs.

Paul Green is my favorite brand. I just purchased the Carmel Zip Low-Top Sneakers in navy and have been wearing them almost daily. I have noticed that their sneakers have been trending towards high platform styles. I feel more sure footed in a traditional sneaker style and hope Paul Green will continue to offer them. Susan – if you have any influence with this brand, please let them know.
