If you’ve never seen the movie, “The Committments,” time to add to your Netflix queue. This quirky movie about a struggling Irish band that plays the music of Motown is one of the best studies ever of personal dynamics within a group of performers I’ve ever seen. And the musical numbers kick some serious arse.

  2. Yes! Loved this movie and “Mustang Sally” was the best song! Roddy Doyle is one of my favorite Irish authors. I guess I’m a bit of an Eire O’ Phile.

  3. My fave line is “The Irish are the blacks of Europe”–also the fave of all the Irish-American people I know.
