The Accessory That Keeps On Giving
Purple herringbone 100% cashmere stole |
“I can’t even THINK about scarves right now,” you may be saying, “it’s still too darn HOT.” But think about this:
- Offices, restaurants, malls, etc. can get quite chilly when the a/c is cranked up. (We went to dinner Saturday night and every ceiling fan in the room was on overdrive. If I hadn’t grabbed a lightweight wool shawl on a whim as we dashed out the door, I wouldn’t have been able to enjoy my meal at all.)
- Some summer air travel still on the agenda? A lightweight pashmina is indispensable for unpredictable cabin temperature fluctuations.
- Fall, and cooler weather, are just around the corner.
- Right now, L’Affaire Cashmere is giving away a FREE silk scarf with each purchase of a cashmere or wool scarf, stole or wrap! (Offer good through September 15.)
Choose from one of these four colors in lovely link pattern |
L’Affaire Cashmere sources their cashmere from high-altitude regions of India, Nepal and Tibet, and most are hand-loomed. They offer a great selection of solids and prints in both cashmere and wool. Here are a few I have my eye on…

I love cashmere. I’m lucky enough to come from Scotland so I stock up whenever I visit home. Must admit I’m useless with scarves though and am loathe to buy myself an expensive cashmere one as I have a habit of leaving my scarves in tea shops, on trains etc.
The Leopard one is very lovely! I find a large wraparound scarf so useful when flying – better than an airline blanket any day! X
I’d chose a scarf over a necklace any day! Lovely scarves, btw!
Thanks! I just ordered a leopard print, and used the discount code. There was no mention in the check-out process of the free scarf — do you know if they just add it in when they ship?
Update: they emailed me to get my color choice, and I received my order yesterday — much faster than I thought I would. The scarves are lovely; thanks for introducing me to this vendor.
That’s great to hear! Thanks for letting us know.
Thanks for the heads up!! and yes, a scarf is a must have no matter the season …Happy Monday, xo HHL
thanks. Please fill up your choice of color for the Free Gift Silk Scarf, through mail to [email protected] or fill up the choice of color in the column Personalized Gift Message, while checking out. Thanks …have a great week ahead!

Here on the east coast the sea breeze can be cool even when the day was warm. A generous scarf or shawl is a much needed part of your daily wardrobe. I’ve got all kinds, all sizes from cotton to handknit wool and use them a lot. You MUST stop featuring Laffaire Cashmere’s beautiful offerings – I am nearly ready to submit to the temptation!
I made a scarf for a friend for Christmas last year and she told me it was one of her favorite gifts ever.
A fine cashmere scarf is for a lifetime – and these are lovely, Une Femme, any time of year.
it is never too hot to think of beautiful scarves!! Nice choices and I cannot wait to wear them more! It is my favorite accessory!
I wear my cashmere scarves as shawls all year, even in hot and humid Florida. When the air conditioning is set on “stun,” the soft wool feels great across bare shoulders. And since real cashmere shakes out wrinkles so quickly, I don’t worry about keeping a scarf folded in my bag at all times. It always looks great when I pull it out.
I got lucky a few years ago, and found several on deep end-of-season discount at Dillards: one cream, one scarlet, and one ombre teal. Those three colors seem to go with just about everything in my closet and I suspect will last for decades if I don’t stain them. Cashmere is amazingly durable, soft, washable, warm, light…truly a wonder material with super powers!
You are so right. Almost always I carry a shawl over my shoulders/ in the bag – just in case. So much more simple than carrying a cardigan along.
Oohing…I want the Beige Four Boxes cashmere stole but they’re out of stock!
Back to the site for a second choice.
I do love the leopard, but since I’ll probably be sporting leopard in shoes or bag this fall, I need to leave it there.
I love scarves almost as much as I adore hats. And these are truly beautiful.
I wore a scarf for the first time this fall today! 🙂
Thanks for this great post !
Many great gift ideas in it that I will be glad to share in the “Scarf Addicted” group I have created on Facebook. New members are welcome to join by the way 🙂
There is no season or age to wear a scarf. It’s a timeless and precious accessory. I live in Florida and I wear one every day, inside or outside (even when it’s 90 degrees !).
Not that I want to take advantage of your blog – you have already been so kind to me – but I’d like to mention my scarf CD “Playing With Scarves”. In it 50 different ways to wear a scarf, along with many photos, personal tips and advice. Many women have bought it for themselves but others told me they offered it as a complement to a scarf present. Christmas is not far and I know we all need ideas…
Thanks again for this lovely post ! Have a wonderful day 🙂
Scarves are my favorite accessory, always help to complete the outfits perfectly. Even in summer, with those tissues as soft and delicate. A wonderful post and a precious samples.
