Think Pink

pink scarf 2

I’m most comfortable with pink as an accessory color and have been looking for just the right pink scarf for some time now. This will be a welcome addition to my mostly neutral travel wardrobe to add some brightness and color.

  1. I love pink and gray together. Although the hot and dark pinks are in vogue, I lean toward ballet pink. Love it with espresso browns and charcoal grays.

  2. I am packing for a trip right now and have included 2 (!) pink travel scarves. One is that ballet pink and the other is a pashmina in shades of hot pink, blue and green. Great minds think alike…

  3. I am (and always have been) drawn to pink clothes and accessories (even pink pearls!)….now that I’m a “certain age”, I go only for deeper shades of pink….something with a bit of oomph to it….for clothes and makeup too. I don’t choose pink as much as I used to. Still love the lighter shades for accessories though! You look really lovely in this outfit! Cathy W.

  4. Beautiful, the gray and pink is lovely! These pictures are great, the light enhances the etherial quality of these colors. Love it with the shoes and so great with your light hair.

  5. I love the pink on you and everything about this outfit! I’ve been eyeing this scarf in the aqua or lavender for awhile and now that I’ve seen it on you (we’re about the same height), I think I might have to take the plunge!

  6. Pink and grey go to together so well and you look fantastic in the shade with your pretty hair. I like pink too and also corals, but I do live in south Florida, so those soft colors and of course Lilly P are part of the uniform.

  7. Divine shade of pink on you! I love a pink sweater on a dull, frigid winter day, and also in spring. My pink is a deeper shade, almost fuchsia, and its relative, coral.

  8. Like Pam, I’m not a fan of pink, but this colour and the texture of the scarf are lovely. I visited the Nordstrom page, and you can see that this scarf is actually a coral or salmon colour, which I prefer to hot pink or “pink ghetto” pink. That would be just the weight if you need warmth in an over air-conditioned office or airplane, or in a bit of a draft.

There are other lovely hues there too. Great shoes.

  9. That pink scarf on you looks so ethereal and dreamy. And I am crazy for those shoes, they seem like something out of the 18th century. Love love love. Thank you so much for the mention and link to both Adrienne and me. We appreciate it (and I loved your pink look that is featured in my post). Have a great weekend. And friendly reminder: Olympic figure skating will be on Saturday and Sunday! It’s the new team event! XO, Jill

  10. Your scarf is so feminine and pretty. I can see if with whites and dreams for Spring and summer too. I thought I had no pink but I realized that I have a pink Sherman rhinestone brooch from the 1950’s era. Accessories would be my nod to having pink in my wardrobe.

  11. Bubble-gum pink looks awful on me, but having a touch of coral in it makes all the difference – it brightens up my skin tones and looks terrific. I love the scarf on you and the light weight of the fabric. I may have to make a trip to Nordstrom’s to decide which of the colors looks best on me – buying online might not work for something where the color is so key.

  12. Lovely outfit – all soft and pastelly… I like pink and I manage to squeeze pastel pink into my wardrobe even though it isn’t my best colour. I’ve got a soft pink cardigan that I wear a lot with burgandy. And a bright fuchsia pink cardigan which is one of my best colours. It looks great with a purple statement necklace.

  13. The right pinks are beautiful and that one’s beautiful on you Susan. I particularly love pink and light grey and use the combination a lot myself even though our colouring is quite different.

  14. I love your shoes, I am slowly building a vog collection, any thoughts on the sizing/comfort level of this style?

    Thanks!

    1. Lisa, I find Fluevogs to be some of the most comfortable heels. I’m usually a 7-1/2 in Vogs, but the 7 in these was best fit (and still plenty of room in the toes).

  15. Lovely. I have been looking for a pair of grey jeans. Pseu, are your jeans petites? I usually need a 29″ inseam, and I see that these have a 28″ in petites and a 32″ in regular. And do they run true to size? I’m between a 6 and an 8 right now. I hate to order four pairs to get one to fit (6P to 8 regular), but at least Nordstrom is an easy return. Thanks…and the pink does look wonderful on you.

    1. Hi Patty, yes these are Petites. I don’t know about that inseam length, but I do notice the organic skinny jeans run a bit longer. I’d be surprised if these were only 28″, because usually that length will hit me right at the ankle, and these hit a little below. I think they’re pretty true to size, though you may want to order a couple of sizes to get your best fit. Some reviews mention that they stretch out a lot with wear, but I haven’t found that to be true. A little, not a lot. And thank you!

  16. I dyed a white lab coat pink and wear it over a host of neutrals. Fun way to brighten my work wardrobe and bring smiles to my patients. Used RIT on a coat that was not water repellant.

  17. Pink and dove grey, a favourite combination. And your scarf seems to embody what soft pink is all about. And the first photo in that light – perfect. After many years, I’m finally friends with pink again, although I have few pieces right now. Love your Vogs too.

  18. This pairing is so ‘delicious’! Pink and grey is a classic combo and that scarf look so soft and the shade of pink is so pretty.. makes me think of French macaron!

  19. You are lovely in pink! So soft with the grey background and of course, the Fluevogs are a hit. They always give an outfit that special touch!

  20. What a lovely shade of pink, especially with your hair and complexion. It is precisely the right shade, not saccharine or too hot. I see why you love it.
I really yearned for a pink dress coat this year, but it was not in my cards. Didn’t really want another piece, and the moment has probably passed. Sometimes, though, it’s better in the wanting than in the having, and I’m pretty sure this is the case here!

  21. I’m not a fan of the color pink- certain hues of it revolt me. That said- sometimes it just feels right- and it has such calming qualities! Your shade on your scarf, seems a bit magical with the pale grey ensemble- I like it- not too girly but smells of womanly romance- and speaking of…I could write a love letter to those Fluevogs of yours! Thank you for adding your brilliance to Shoe Shine! xo! -Bella

  22. These two colors are so feminine together and look so nice on you. Does the scarf loop work its way up and become more of a choker? I find some do when draped like that, but usually the more silky ones. A scarf with texture stays put a little better.
