thursday bits and bobs

picnic quai Seine

It’s hard to believe, but we’re now just 7 weeks out from our trip to London, Normandy and Paris! We’ve begun nailing down our itinerary, and have a few really special activities planned. (I need to start practicing my French!) More soon…

On a housekeeping note: I believe I’ve found and fixed the setting that was causing the full posts not to show up in readers and emails. Fingers crossed… My apologies if this caused any inconvenience to you. I’m going to blab, no seriously, I’m going to Blab…with Pam of Over50Feeling40 and Jennifer of A Well Styled Life! You’ll get to hear my squeaky voice. 😉

Blab

Our Blab is scheduled for this Sunday at 5pm Eastern/ 2pm Pacific time. This should be lots of fun and I hope you’ll join us! You can subscribe here to join us live, or watch the replay.

à bientôt!

  1. I’m looking forward to hearing your plans for this year’s trip — I need some vicarious travel until this move is done and I can start planning my own! I like the sound of your itinerary — promises to blend some urban with some more open vistas, which is a mix I really like, and overall, that’s a reasonable compact area to cover.

    1. Yes, despite being in two countries and across the Channel (are you taking the train, the ferry or flying?) that is not a large area at all, as you’ll see if you compare it to journeys within California. Normandy is beautiful and green (meaning you might get some rain). Will you be exploring any Second World War sites? I stayed at Dieppe when I was there – I was also technicallly in Normandy visiting friends who commute to Paris, but they live in the Vexin normand, just outside Île-de-France.

Materfamilias, I’ll look at your blog to learn more about your move. I can’t travel much nowadays with a 20-year-old cat…

      1. lagatta, yes, we’re hoping to visit some of the WWII sites, as well as staying in a country home for a few nights.

    1. janwhichard, I’m not entirely sure about blab and twitter. I’m a bit of a newbie in this arena. 😉 Jennifer at A Well Styled Life has organized this, and might be able to answer your question.

  2. Thanks Susan! I’m leaving today, for 7 nights in Amsterdam and Belgium, then on to Paris for 7 nights. While in Paris, I’ll be staying for the 1st time in an Airbnb apartment! I’m so thrilled to be going to my favorite city in-the-world! I’ll post on instagram while I’m there… @Kande_Hall

  3. Would you be willing to share your itinerary? We have a similar trip coming up in July and I still need some ideas! 🙂

  4. Another Christine here, going on a Paris to Normandy cruise in October. I look forward to seeing your posts! I was in Paris in 2014 the same week that you were there. We are so lucky to be able to travel to these wonderful places. Bon voyage.
