  5. How lovely! Thank you for the pictures – I want the dog in the hat!!!
Thank you for your blog – it is so well done – I always looks forward to reading it.
    Happy Holidays.

  6. Joyeuses fêtes et retour du soleil! Those are lovely. I like the fact that there are also small, elegant bûches for two or three people at that pâtisserie.

I also loved the dog and horse, but I’ve been a critter-lover since my earliest memories. Respect to service, first responder and assistance animals, including the brave Diesel, who is buried in a longstanding animal cemetery in the Paris suburbs.

Greetings to Monsieur Pseu et le Jeune Monsieur Pseu, and so happy that the latter has found a spot with young people with the same requirements and is able to flourish.

  7. What an absolute TREAT these are! Thanks so much. I’m really enjoying the before, during and after of our – I mean, YOUR trip to Paris.

    Merci pour le cadeau!

  8. With thanks for all the gorgeous views of Paris at Christmas and for your thoughts and advice on all things fashion throughout the year. All very much appreciated from a long time reader but rare commenter. Happy Christmas to you and yours

  9. Wonderful photos of Paris in happy times. With all the troubles in France at the moment and over the year, it is wonderful to see it dressed up for Christmas. A joyful Christmas you and those you love.

  10. Happy Holidays, Susan! Thank you for posting these pictures of our beloved Paris at Christmas-time. Thank you for all your posts, sharing your ideas, tips and knowledge. May 2020 be a fabulous year for you and your family!

  11. First post but couldn’t resist wishing you happy holidays! I read your posts almost daily and love the photos of European holiday elegance, they are reminiscent of the two years I lived in Geneva (CH). Your advice has supported the mindset I needed to plan my wardrobe for a friend’s five day destination wedding in Yosemite New Year’s Eve! Elegant reception at the Ahwanee, hiking, ice skating and traveling by car have given me quite the wardrobe challenges, simplicity ( and of course thoughtful layering) reigns priority! I am plus sized so keep up the plus sized links, they seem well filtered. Bonne Fête!

  12. Photos like these are what got me hooked on your blog many years ago. You have a great eye.
    Joyeux Noel et Bonne Année!

  13. I believe the second church is St-Sulplice?

I never happened to go to the Grands magasins when visiting Paris at the year’s end. Was not staying in that part of town, and was trawling for books, art and calligraphy supplies, and simply visiting.

Christmas Eve was splendid here; no snow, mild temps, meeting up with friends at Jean-Talon Market, sharing an espresso, riding my trusty old Raleigh Sprite Mixte back home. Livia, my wee black cat, was also sunning herself in the lane and back safe at home now. Made empanadas – for friends yesterday evening and the 26th. Nothing planned for tomorrow.

  14. Thank you for the lovely pictures of Paris at Christmas.
Thank mostly, thank for starting my days with your ideas, styles and kindness.
Happy Holiday to you and your family.
