Une femme recommends…

RéVive Eye Renewal Cream

Une femme has learned to be skeptical of expensive, over-hyped skin creams.  I’ve found darn few that really deliver what the breathless Sales Associate promises.  After the third person told me that I must try this product, I gave in and took some samples home.

I don’t have a lot of deep wrinkles in the eye area, but what I do have are droopy upper lids with a crepey texture that is only accentuated by wearing eye shadow.  After using this stuff for a few days, the lids seemed slightly less droopy, but the crepey look was almost totally gone.  Smooth skin!  So yeah, I went back and bought some.  I was instructed to just tap the top rather than pump, as only a very small amount is needed, and the tube should last for several months.

  1. I hope you will follow up with this after using it for a while. I have enough cosmetics etc. to open a sephora in my home. I too get tired of things that just don’t work.

  2. Only in this day & age would I be eagerly checking to see if a stranger has blogged, and then actually *considering* shelling out $$$ for an eye cream based on her recommendation!

LOVE the Internet! Love “Une Femme!”

  3. My eyes are a particular problem area that injections don’t get to and only surgery will help. Maybe I should invest it this product before I start thinking about getting my eyes done.

  4. I’m interested in this product, as I have similar eye/skin issues. But it’s rather pricey for me, so in doing a little research on it, I discovered an interesting tidbit: ReVive is owned by Laura Mercier Cosmetics. I used to buy Laura Mercier, and loved some of their products, but I was put off when they sold out to Alticor, which is owned by Amway. Most people will totally not care about the Amway connection, but I have major problems with them and their political agenda.

On the other hand, I’ve been wavering about abandoning my principles for some Mercier tinted moisturizer, which is a great product. Sometimes it’s better not to know too much…….

  5. What I’ve found is that skin care items seem to vary in how much they work from person to person. For me, I just shelled out for creme de la mer because it’s one of the first things I’ve found that actually helps my uber dry skin (and it’s made my skin tighter, even my husband occurs….something important for a 26 year old who has lost enough weight for it to have drastically affected her face shape). However, for many the creme would be a waste of money because it simply wouldn’t do much.

But I think I’m going to recommend this eye stuff to my in laws (who are pushing 70) since I think they might enjoy it!

  6. Sounds like you found a winner! I often find myself tempted to buy new “goodies” at the cosmetics counter, but I’ve learned that most of the time they don’t live up to the fanfare. It’s much better when I can get a big enough sample to try over a period of days. (And sometimes I luck out — that’s how I found my Rene Furterer curly hair shampoo, etc.)

But for my face, my rosacea means I have to keep it really simple — nothing but La Roche Posay! Cleanser + day sunscreen / richer night cream. I recently got a full-sized sample of their “Micellar Solution” makeup remover that gets everything off my face without rubbing — a plus for rosacea. I may need to add it to my routine.

  7. @Rubiatonta
I have rosacea as well and have found Laura Geller makeup a lifesaver. It doesn’t irritate at all. Take a look at it, it’s great stuff. 🙂
