  1. You look great! and I’m wearing almost the same thing you are today–long cardi sweater in magenta, black tunic, dk brown ponte leggings, boots and a leopard scarf. Love your cardi by the way.

  2. Very cool! I also always enjoyed dressing for work for the 20+ years I was in the corporate world. I especially enjoyed the times I was seeing clients in Paris (and got to pull out my favorite Parisian wear – and no stockings in warm weather!).

I actually miss the necessity to dress (some of the time) – working from home means you can get lazy. Not necessarily a good thing!

By the way – love the boots!

  3. gina – thank you! Glad you enjoyed.

Duchesse – seeing the picture up, I’m thinking I may have veered to far into the Casual Zone for a work environment. Still finding my way, I guess. But I do love this look; it’s comfortable, and a great palette to add accessories.

    Rita@Goldivas – thanks so much!

frugalscholar – thank you! I really do like this silhouette. The cardi is Eileen Fisher too, and one of my “express lane challenge” pieces. I wear this one LOTS.

Tiffany – thanks! I think there’s such a wide variance these days with regard to what’s appropriate for business. I’m glad we have more leeway, but it also makes getting dressed for work like putting together a puzzle sometimes.

  4. That’s Not My Age – thank you!

BigLittleWolf – oh, what I wouldn’t give to work in Paris and have the option for Parisian Wear! Thanks, the boots are from Frye.

hostess – thank you. I really do feel so much more *myself* in very simple styles. I think they are more timeless and make it easier to highlight favorite accessories.

Cybill – oh thank you; you are too kind!

Terri – thank you so much! I’m so flattered to be included in the same category as Lisa, as I really admire her style.

  5. Great post. I work mostly from home, but occasionally have to work in-house with clients or go to meetings, so I certainly need to know how to dress the part when required.

  6. You and Lisa stole the show in my book. I think this is the first time I’ve seen a full photo of you. Looking comfy and sleek.

  7. Wow1 I love the full photo shot, your hair looks fabulous! Are you naturally darker haired? it is really flattering.

  8. Agree you looked super-youuung!

I had to do some quick math there since your references pegged you as a bit older than the barely-past-50 I’d thought…and the baby face staring back at me led to even more cognitive dissonance!

Plus it was a fun read, though I admit I was surprised to see you *that* casual given what you’ve written here. It looked good on you, mind, I was just expecting one of your more tailored + funky (aka “twisted”) looks.

  9. chère femme, may I ask you about your opinion on these pearls: Honora is the name of the brand and I fell for a denim-4-strand necklace from them. In Austria this brand is totally unknown. Would you recommend it? … in case you know it at all 🙂

Sal’s “get together” of different bloggers is excellent!

  10. The Style Crone – thank you so much; you are very kind!

Joy – thank you! My natural hair color is pretty close to what you see here, just with a bit more grey!

Vix – thanks so much. I’ll be 54 in March. Actually, this ensemble is on the casual side for me too, and I’ll be addressing that in tomorrow’s post.

    Miss Janey – thanks!

Paula – I’m flattered that you ask, but when it comes to pearls, I need to defer to Duchesse, who is our resident pearl expert.

    LPC – aww, thanks!

  11. Thank you so much for the tipp, I had NO idea, Duchesse is a if not “the” Duchesse of Pearls! 25 postings on pearls over there. What a pleasant surprise.
