Room With A View
Early morning, Pacific Ocean |
It’s been an absolutely crazy week, but we knew we had this getaway scheduled for the weekend to look forward to. We’ve camped out at the Ritz Carlton in Dana Point, just a couple hours drive South in Friday rush hour traffic to have a bit of down time and celebrate our anniversary . I’ve never been here before and it’s just gorgeous!
Strawberries with dipping chocolate upon arrival |
The big goal line we crossed this week, other than 18 years of wedded bliss (or Happy Headlock as we like to call it) was to finally get all of the papers signed off to transfer le jeune homme to the new school. Yesterday was his last day at the public high school; he’ll have a week off for spring break and then start at the new school on April 1. You can only imagine the relief we’re feeling, and we have our fingers crossed that he’ll be happier there and display less aggression and frustration.
Flowers in lobby |
Hope you are having a Bon weekend!

Have a wonderful weekend. That view is lovely.
Happy Anniversary!
Looks like a beautiful spot to celebrate and congratulations on getting your son registered for his new school.
I think I’d like to have some strawberries for breakfast now:-)
Savour your weekend.
So happy for you. I know how difficult it can be for a parent when a child is unhappy in school and it must be doubly so for you. Hoping the weekend is lovely.
Happy Anniversary! The view is lovely and I hope you have a nice, relaxing anniversary weekend!

Happy Anniversary and it’s such a lovely place. Be sure to try their “High Tea” – it’s a lot of fun. So glad you have the papers signed and your son will be in a better environment for him.
Happy 18 years! Hope to hear nice things about the new school your son will attend.
My best friend lives in Laguna Niguel and I always stay with her when I come home to visit. The Ritz is a lovely hotel and the setting is breathtaking.
I’m homesick.
How divine. I’m sure you are wonderfully deserving parents for this bit of R&R. Happy Anniversary, too.
Happy Anniversary! The Ritz Carlton here in Half Moon Bay just outside of San Francisco has gorgeous views, but this is spectacular ! Hope you enjoy your mini-break and good luck with your son’s new school! Love the strawberries and chocolate by the way…
You have much to celebrate!! Congrats on both the anniversary and the school. I know having your children in the right place brings so much peace! May your weekend be full of laughter and surprises! The hotel won me at the strawberries!!
I’ve been to the R/C at Laguna Niguel, but I don’t have am IPad, dammit!
Looks life a lovely place to “camp” – congratulations to your SO for finding you and keeping you happy these years – and fingers crossed for the new school – xo
I’ve been away for a while. I’m so happy you finally got the school issue worked out. I truly hope it works for your son.
Also, have a great weekend and don’t waste a minute blogging. Like the movie Eat, Pray, Love.
Happy Anniversary! I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Happy Anniversary (Happy Headlock – LOL), and happy weekend! It looks like a great place to relax and rejuvenate. I hope le jeune homme does well at his new school.
What a wonderful way to celebrate and the Ritz is pretty fab! Enjoy those strawberries! Happy headlock made me laugh!
