Room With A View

Dana Point
Early morning, Pacific Ocean

It’s been an absolutely crazy week, but we knew we had this getaway scheduled for the weekend to look forward to. We’ve camped out at the Ritz Carlton in Dana Point, just a couple hours drive South in Friday rush hour traffic to have a bit of down time and celebrate our anniversary . I’ve never been here before and it’s just gorgeous!

Strawberries with dipping chocolate upon arrival

The big goal line we crossed this week, other than 18 years of wedded bliss (or Happy Headlock as we like to call it) was to finally get all of the papers signed off to transfer le jeune homme to the new school. Yesterday was his last day at the public high school; he’ll have a week off for spring break and then start at the new school on April 1. You can only imagine the relief we’re feeling, and we have our fingers crossed that he’ll be happier there and display less aggression and frustration.

Hope you are having a Bon weekend!

So happy for you. I know how difficult it can be for a parent when a child is unhappy in school and it must be doubly so for you. Hoping the weekend is lovely.

Happy Anniversary and it’s such a lovely place. Be sure to try their “High Tea” – it’s a lot of fun. So glad you have the papers signed and your son will be in a better environment for him.

Happy 18 years! Hope to hear nice things about the new school your son will attend.

My best friend lives in Laguna Niguel and I always stay with her when I come home to visit. The Ritz is a lovely hotel and the setting is breathtaking.

    I’m homesick.

How divine. I’m sure you are wonderfully deserving parents for this bit of R&R. Happy Anniversary, too.
