Early Fall Finds On My Style Radar This Week…
A Light, Bright Cardigan…
Delivery took longer than expected, but I’m quite pleased with this knee-length cardigan from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. It’s light and soft, and quite budget-friendly. This sweater will work in our climate for probably 8 months out of the year.
Earrings | Cardigan (Plus) | Top (Plus) | Necklace | Pants | Shoes
I’m wearing the Petite Small. (While the Petite sizes no longer seem to be available, there’s still plenty of selection in Misses and Plus sizes.)
Loafing Around
Loafers are on-trend for fall, but they’re always “in” with me. A pair of loafers can be a comfortable and practical alternative when you need a break from your sneakers.
A few years ago while on one of our trips to Paris, I splurged on a pair of Gucci Jordaans. They were comfortable right out of the box, and became even more so over time. Of course at the time I went with classic black.
Since my color analysis last year, I’ve toyed with the idea of investing in another color in the Jordaans, but haven’t yet seen one that I love. At that price point, I consider them a lifetime investment, and won’t settle.
I recently spotted this pair (shown above) in a very similar style at a much more palatable price, and love that lighter tan color.
These women’s loafers are very well-reviewed for looks and comfort. There are several colors and finishes available, but I think this dark green croc embossed leather is gorgeous!
This loafer/sneaker hybrid is also well-reviewed for comfort. Several colors are offered, some in both Narrow and Wide widths. I haven’t tried these but per reviews, they run slightly large.
If you need a bit more of a heel, these wedge loafers provide a little lift. They’re also offered in Wide sizes. I had a similar pair and found them astoundingly comfortable. They ran TTS.
I purchased these earlier this year, and have worn them often. They really are as comfortable as slippers!

Really love the red cardigan on you Susan. I ordered a medium petite (big busted) as that is what I normally wear so i hope it is the right size but it hangs so well on you. Love the top too, might have to go back!
Rothy’s do a nice leopard shoe worth checking out, super comfy.Take care:)
I order the same sweater, in the Red Pomegranate color and loved it so much, ordered it in Black as well. I am short, but have broader shoulders and dislike when sweaters pull across my back, so I went with the petite medium and the fit is perfect.
Had to order that red cardigan after seeing it on you! It’s so cheerful
I have that same cardigan in red and black and love both. They’re every bit as lovely as my EF pieces at a fraction of the cost. BOOMERBROADcast.net
Loafers are the best thing that ever happened to my feet. I love them! Here’s a link to my current favorites, which I have in several different patterns and colors — they are supremely comfortable and very high quality.

I got the red cardigan a couple weeks ago. Am seriously thinking about adding another color also. Really lovely garment! I’m always in the market for loafers.
The sweater reminds me of Side Effects brand I wore and loved. Sad they are no longer produced. Love this color !
Looks great on you! Is the cardigan an orange red or blue red? My monitor is showing in completely different colors! Thanks!
Thanks! It leans a little warm but not too far into orange.
Thank you! My monitor shows it in your first photo as neon orange and you are really looking positively glowing. I wondered if neon orange was one of your colors.
Thanks to both of you. I could never ware the orangey colour in the top photo, but the cool red in the clip is one of my best colours.
Goodness! You have some great picks. I absolutely LOVE the sweater on you & the shoes you are wearing make the outfit pop! I would like for you to do some more of the videos; it’s great to see how it looks on you from different angles & how the fabrics flow, I found that very helpful. I didn’t buy anything at the Nordstrom sale, however, there is a department store in the South that I shop often where I was able to get some great buys! 2 cashmere sweaters, 2 suede blazers (with a waterfall lapel), a pair of holiday leggings to lounge in the evenings, a tie with lobsters on it for my son, a knit/fleece vest for my husband & finally, a large bottle of my moisturizer. All of these things (all really good brands that I have purchased before) for less than $160,00! I’m still in shock! I’m one of those that NEVER pays full price for clothing (& anything else I can bargain on), but this buy is just shocking to me! Thanks for all the ideas & you blog, I love it!!
I bought that sweater in the N sale a couple of years ago, in dark green, and it has held up very well so a real bargain for the price.
Mmm, dark green! (Like a forest green?)
I ordered the gray sweater and am still waiting for it to arrive. I am a bit concerned about the length because mine isn’t petite and I’m not a tall person. Guess we’ll find out when it finally shows up :-). I am glad to hear the good reviews for it.
The colors look great on you, but would do nothing for me. Can you show some outfits in cool colors? I have lots of grey and black and blue and would like to add a little color. Thanks.
Hi Jackie, I no longer buy cool colors for myself, but many of the pieces I’ve shown are also available in cooler colors. (This sweater is also offered in Pomegranate Red, which is a cool berry color.) The dark green loafers would also work with other cool tones.
Oh to wear cold weather clothing again! This California heat wave is dragging on.
That cardi looks terrific on you — the whole outfit looks terrific, simple, casual but elegant, great colours — but I’m more interested in that gorgeous V-neck blouse under it! I’ve been looking for a top like that all year. I never wear cardigans because I’m never happy with the way they fit: I’m slender but a little busty & they pull or gape & seem to draw the eye & not in a good way, but maybe I just need to try on more styles to see if I can find something that works because they’re ideal for our Canadian coastal climate & they look so stylish when paired with the right separates. And I love all the loafers! I have well over a dozen pairs in all colours & get endless amounts of wear out of them. I think they look so smart with everything from casual jeans to tailored pants & there seems to be a style that goes with anything. Thanks for the great display!
Thanks! I’ve had this top for a couple of years and it was a real game-changer when I first found it. So easy to layer under sweaters or jackets!
I ordered the dark red version of that sweater a couple of days ago! Couldn’t get the petite; hoping the regular won’t engulf me. I did follow the recommendations and size down.
The colour is indeed orange in the photo and a sort of raspberry red in the video.
I like both colours on you so it doesn’t matter to me.

The color in the still photo is more accurate. I don’t know how to adjust color in the videos…yet.
I bought that cardigan a few years ago, in navy and in black, and they are great for transition weather here in the north. Perfect for spring and fall when wool is just too heavy, that color is great for you.
