Best Shoes from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: My Top Picks

Yesterday I had a chance to take another pass (in person) through the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. As in prior years, I found some of the best selections in the shoe department. Here are a few of my top picks, all still available in most sizes as of this writing.

Loafers & Boots

These Tory Burch “Kira” loafers are not only good-looking, but are deliciously soft! They run true-to-size. (Yes, they came home with me…)

If you love a clean and understated look, it’s hard to go wrong with Vince loafers. I’ve found the pairs I’ve owned to be extremely comfortable. This style is also available in brown suede. They usually run large, so go 1/2 size down.

With over 4500 reviews (82% five stars) this Vionic loafer is worth a look. Vionic is known for their arch support, and this style is available in several color options besides the leopard print. (There’s also a classic penny loafer from Vionic in the sale, if you prefer that style…it’s very good-looking!)

Weatherproof Boots for Travel

I love the patent leather finish on this La Canadienne ankle boot. If you’re planning to travel when it’s cool and wet, this one will go from day to dinner. It’s also available in three suede colors.

I’ve traveled often with Aquatalia boots and found them not only comfortable for all-day walking, but truly weatherproof. I really like the softer shaft on this one, which will keep ankles warm and dry. Also available in black and “whiskey” suede. I’ve found this brand runs true-to-size.

The team at Steve Madden sent me a pair of these Mary Janes to try, and I was so impressed! The insole is very well-cushioned, and the perforated suede means your feet can breathe, even on warm days. There are several colors available, and I’d suggest going with your usual size.

When I was in Paris this spring, it seemed like Flabelus Mary Janes were featured in every shop. I had to try them and yes, they are comfortable, with a nicely padded insole! They run small, so go up a full size.

A little razzle dazzle…why not have some fun with your footwear? These Splendid studded flats can dress up or down, and are a budget-friendly option. They’re also available in a tobacco brown color.

Sneakers

A friend has a similar pair of these Dolce Vita sneakers and swears by their comfort. These are really cute in person, and the perforated upper will keep your feet happy when it’s warm.

I purchased a similar pair of rag & bone sneakers in the sale last year, and love them. Stylish and easy to wear all day! Take your usual size.

If I hadn’t put myself on a sneaker purchasing moratorium, I’d be all over these Paul Greens! I love the slip-on ease, and they’re supportive and comfortable. I’ve traveled often with a similar style. Take your usual size.
