Bompard Catalog, The First Sign of Autumn

Va-voom!

While I’m not as fortunate as Tish to receive an actual printed catalog, complete with yarn color samples, I’ve been perusing the new fall catalog online and have selected my picks for the If Money Were No Object fantasy cashmere wardrobe.

I’d start off with this v-neck sweater with that quelque chose extra lace on the shoulders. I’m not normally one for lace, but the placement and contrast here makes it almost a little edgy. The marmot brown is a rich and sensible color, but IMWNO, I’d also get one in this lovely Tourmaline Pink.

The ribbed jacket would be wonderful for cold morning dog walking, or a nice piece for an afternoon of aprés ski Jaegertea sipping by the outdoor fire pit.

I’ll take one of these openwork design cardigans in Stream Blue, please.

I’d add to my collection of lace voile scarves, this time in Pink Tourmaline. (How gorgeous is this color??)

If I had the means to be labeled “eccentric,” I’d be all over this adorable dog print scarf. (This dog, which appears to be wearing a scarf of its own, strongly resembles my boy dog, Byron!)

It’s rarely cold enough here to wear a hat, but when it is, wouldn’t this knit beret in Garnet Red be a fun option?

While polka dots aren’t my thing, I do think this sweater is terribly cute.

At this point, I’m well stocked with as much cashmere as one needs in LA, but if that voile scarf goes on sale in January…..

What would you select for your fantasy cashmere wardrobe, If Money Were No Object?

  1. I’ve been perusing the website and have basically been attracted to basics. The ribbed jacket you selected is gorgeous, but I think I already have too many warm cardigan/jackets and I am moving to a warmer climate. The openwork design cardigan and a couple of v-neck cardigans would be very nice though.

  2. I have loads of cashmere sweaters–including some my mother bought in England more than 20 years ago, so I would pick a blanket.

I peered in the window of a Bompard shop in Nantes, but it was closed for fermeture. I guess I need to go back to check things out.

  3. These are all gorgeous. I’d have just about everything you featured with the exception of the buttoned cardigans, those never fit me properly.
And the pooch scarf is adorable, I saw that they have it in a sort of muted turquoise. One please!

  4. I wll be there in less than a month, so plan to pick up my fantasies: a “off-guage” polo, maybe another of the shirt jackets (one I bought three years ago is well worth it, and maybe something for Le Duc. But mail order is efficient.

The dots are adorable but a mistake on me. One of those things I so wish I could wear. I also love the Kilimanjaro tee.

  5. Love the doggie scarf. I would definitely want that hat, if only it were cooler in Northern CA! There was a cool breeze last night and this morning that got me thinking about sweaters, with a vague, muted version of of the enthusiasm I had September mornings and evenings living in New York.

  6. I was taken with a woman at FNO last night who had on a white outfit with a pink scarf the same color as the first sweater. She was stunning..I will post her picture this weekend. I actually got so much information and pictures that it will take me perhaps three posts to get most of it out!! I agree with your selections…all good ones..but the pink sweater is my favorite.

  7. I agree with Leslie, a cashmere robe is on my wish list. My long black cashmere coat was an insane investment 5y ago, but I am so glad to have it! May need to get that doggie scarf for my daughter in honor of our crazy beagle.

  8. I love cashmere so much. The baby even has a cashmere blanket! I would in my fantasy life basically love everything in my home to be cashmere. Can you imagine how happy the moths’s be???
