A few weeks ago I mentioned in my newsletter* that I’ve been using RevitaLash RevitaBrow Advanced Eyebrow Conditioner and have seen remarkable regrowth of my brows. They’ve filled in to the point that a) I’m actually having to pluck strays to maintain their shape and b) I no longer need to use a pencil to fill them in.

I’ve been trying out some brow gels to keep the hairs in place and provide a little more definition, and had promised to report back. I’ve found two that I like a lot.

Jane Iredale Pure Brow Gel (I use Blonde) has a large brush that surprisingly isn’t cumbersome. It applies well in just a couple of swipes, doesn’t “glop” and doesn’t flake off.

Grande Brow-Fill Volumizing Brow Gel is my other top pick. Although the brush is smaller and requires an extra pass or two, it also goes on smoothly, matches my natural brow color well (“Light”), and stays put. It’s also supposed to have some conditioning and growth-promoting ingredients.

Both give a very natural-looking result.

  4. Those serums make my brows just grow LONG not more full. Did you find that to be so? I love Gimme Brow by Benefit and some tiny Anastasia brow gel thing I got in an IPSY bag. Brows are like the punctuation for the eyes!

    1. My experience is that they filled in, especially on the “tails,” but I haven’t noticed the hairs being longer. (I’ve always had a couple of “Andy Rooney’s” that I trim every few weeks or so.)

  7. Since I have sparse brows I’m a long time fan of brow gel. I used to have black hair and so black or soft black gel worked great. But ever since my hair turned white that doesn’t work. Too harsh, too much. For a while I had one that called “granite” and it was good, but they stopped making it. At stores, sales people keep steering me towards “blonde” but that doesn’t work at all. Good that it’s light in color, but way to warm. My coloring is pale and cool. Any ideas of solving this color problem?

      1. My sister uses that one and I’ve tried it. But her white hair has a “champagne rinse”, or whatever it’s called, so it works. On me the brown was very noticeable. Maybe I would have liked it better if I’d had brown, rather than black hair. I keep thinking that with more and more women going white maybe the possibilities will expand.
