Elevate Your Wardrobe with Eileen Fisher Color Picks
Eileen Fisher hasn’t always been a brand you’d think of when you’re looking for color. While they’ve always been a good source for quality neutral basics (especially black) and softer “almost color” colors, they’ve really upped their color game lately! Today I’m sharing some of my favorite colorful women’s sweaters and tops from Eileen Fisher. And there’s something for every seasonal palette!
Smitten with Spearmint

My sizes: Sweater – XS, Pants – XS (had hemmed about 1.5″)
I’m absolutely in lurrve with the “Spearmint” color of this cashmere-silk hat and sweater! It’s a great color for both Autumns and Springs, and the fabric is warm but lightweight and SO soft!!
One of the best things about building a wardrobe in your seasonal color palette is that everything works together. The scarf (c/o) is part of the Liberty print collaboration with BLACK. This one’s the Pineapple print (now back in stock and ready to ship!). Also available are the Peacock, Paisley, and Floral prints. Use code SUSAN15 for 15% off!
The sweater is a more fitted style, so I’d suggest taking your normal EF size. Size up if you want a more relaxed fit. I’ve half-tucked it here. These are the washable ponte carrot pants in color “Wren” which is a good neutral for Springs and Autumns.
But that’s just the beginning…here are more sumptuous colors from Eileen Fisher
I’ve focused mostly on sweaters and tops here, because it’s most important to get our best colors near the face.

Lightweight Merino top – $189
Winters, this “Calliope” color is a good one for you. I love these merino tops for travel, as they’re lightweight and layer well.
Merino crewneck sweater – $268
“Evergreen” is another good color for you Winters, looks close to the Dark Emerald in your palette. (Summers, check out the “Delfina” color, a pretty blue.)

Organic Linen-Cotton Sweater – $228
“Chartreuse” is a good one for you Autumns, and I think Golden Springs could wear it as well. (I’ve pre-ordered this one, expected to ship next month.)
Organic cotton jersey long sleeve tee – $78
Summers, check out this “Petal” and “Delfina.”
There are lots of other colors too. (From now until early spring is the best time to find a good selection of long-sleeve tees.)

Cotton & recycled cashmere v-neck – $268
Here’s another good one for Summers in “Delfina.” (Might also work for some of you Blue Springs and Sprinter Winters.)
Stretch Jersey Band Collar Top – $139
Autumns, this “Redwood” is a very close match to the Chestnut in your palette. This would be a good travel piece: as comfortable as a tee but can be dressed up to Smart Casual!

Organic Cotton Chenille Top – $278
Winters, this deep blue (“Infinity”) would be a great black alternative for you.
Brushed terry top – $138
This brushed terry top is available in several colors. Summers, this “Opal” is a good one for you.

Stretch crepe ankle pants – $168
Yes, these are more of a neutral. But I wanted to include as they’re a close match to Autumn’s “Marine Navy,” which can be a difficult one to find. (Top HERE.)
Underneath it all: silk jersey tank – $108
I’ve purchased a few of these over the years and wear them primarily as a base layer underneath my sweaters, though they also work well as a lightweight top in warmer seasons. They are washable and hold up well! While they used to only be offered in black and white, now there are several colors available.

Hi Susan! I love these choices and I’m a big EF fan! I especially like the chartreuse sweater but I’m wondering about the neckline–would it be flattering to my ‘dramatic/gamine/natural style’? I hope so! The pants look fabulous. Thanks Susan!
Hi Sally, you’d probably want to add something structured (like a jacket or vest to get the Dramatic element) with this sweater, which looks to be on the more relaxed side.
I love Eileen Fisher, and have worn her clothes for 20+ years! I was just traveling and was wearing a lightweight coat of hers when a fellow traveler in the airport asked me about it. I’m still getting compliments and the coat was probably at least 20 years old or more!
Loved this colorful post! Is the Eileen Fisher Violette color close to “Damson” for winters, or do you think it’s more for falls? Thanks, Susan!
Hi Michelle, thanks! I think the Violette is definitely a Winter color, close to Lobelia.
Absolutely love the spearmint color! Tho it’s out of my price range I will be on the hunt for this color in a scarf or affordable alternative. My favorite type of post showing us our colors and how to coordinate them. Thanks!
When I saw the chartreuse, I thought I am an Autumn woman as that colour suits me well. But then I saw the Redwood and although I have a top in that colour, I am not so sure, that it does me favours.
The deep blue, on the other hand, might be for winters, but I best it would suit me. I am definitely not a Summer type. I should look where my colour chart is and what it says. I know the best colours by heart but never remembered what “season” I was.

I still think you’re a Spring 😉
I have been wearing Ef for years, and I have several pieces in bright colors. There used to be a category on the web site just for “color.” I have found some good items on the consignment sites (like Poshmark) with colors from seasons past. I do have my “core” of EF basics in the neutrals, of course. Almost all of my pants are EF, and you can’t beat that stretch crepe for durability.
Hi Susan! Thanks for this post about Eileen Fisher colors. I’ve purchased several pieces of EF clothing since becoming a reader of your blog. I love the quality, fabrics, and colors. As a winter. the EF color Rhapsody from last winter/spring is a favorite. Looking ahead I see that EF has a red for late winter/spring called Cherry. It’s hard to tell on my screen if this red has too much orange for a winter. What do you think? Thank you, and Happy Holidays to you and your family.
