A Few Good Sales
Well howdy, November! Didn’t notice you sneaking up so fast…
The mid-seasonal markdowns have started, and I’ve been sifting through some of the sales with an eye toward pieces that will have staying power in your wardrobe.
Fall Basics On Sale
J.Crew is offering 30% off select “wear now styles,” including the sweater and boots above. Use code SOGOOD. The sweater is offered in lots of great colors, and up to size 3X.
Also included, the customer (and my) favorite Regent blazer, in both wool and Four Season Stretch (wool-free) fabric.
The Sophie Sweater blazer in several colors is also included in the 30% off promotion.
Looking ahead toward holiday gatherings? Neiman Marcus is having their “First Call” sale, with markdowns up to 40% off. There’s lots of Eileen Fisher, including this soft velvet jacket in Pine. Plus / Petite. This is a nice “Festive, Not Fussy” piece that can adapt to a wide range of formality levels. (EF velvet tends to be lighter in weight too, so you won’t roast indoors.)
Neiman Marcus isn’t just for high-end shoppers; they also carry mid-range brands like Nic+Zoe (some good holiday party options here too…).
Lands’ End is having a Friends & Family sale, 40% off with code FAMILY40. If you’ve had your eye on one of those packable down jackets, they’re also included (Regular/Petite/Tall, Plus/Petite Plus). Above that pretty Fair Isle cashmere sweater caught my eye.
More Mid-Season Sale Action

Bon weekend!

The velvet blazer is lovely and looks comfortable. I feel restricted in blazers even the ones with stretch. Just a thing with me. But the velvet or sweater blazers speak to me.
I scored my first J Crew sweater blazers during their last promos, and I predict they won’t be my last. I doubt I would have given them a second look if it hadn’t been for your beautiful outfits that feature them. Thank you for the style inspiration. Eagerly looking forward to cooler temps so I can wear them. My tip to those who are interested is to go in store to try the different sweater blazer styles on first because the sizing varies wildly! I am a Small in some styles and an XL in others! And their 365 Stretch tees are just what I have been looking for! I’m planning on scooping up a few more colors. Game-changer when you find the perfect tee and toppers!
I have two of the wool flannel Regent blazers and love them. I ordered the blazer in both fabrics, wool flannel and 4-way stretch, but ended up liking the flannel fabric better so I kept that one. The Regent seems to offer good value for the money and even better that they are on sale now. My older one is red and when I ordered the navy, I checked to see if the sizing had changed, but they said it hadn’t. My new one, same size, fits just like the older jacket.
I bought a velvet jacket like that on Zulily last year for $14.99. I wish I’d bought a few more.
That first outfit is so great on so many levels. It looks comfortable. And warm. It’s very chic. And professional. I love the playfulness of the skirt and booties pattern.
Emme is having a good sale, and and added a BOGO to it! I got a few of their bags to give as Christmas gifts, so excited!
Just ordered this turtleneck sweater, thanks for the heads up! I love your posts about sales they frequently lead to purchases of items you recommend
