Here we are at the start of another long holiday weekend…

(Yeah, Dowager Countess, I hear ya…)

…and I’ve been sifting through the sales and promotions. I’ve found a few things I’ll be stocking up on, as well as some of your favorites on sale.

Beauty Buys

Colleen Rothschild luxury skincare: Face Oil No.9, Radiant Cleansing Balm and Extreme Recovery Cream. Details and more favorites on sale at une femme d'un certain age.

I’m at that point where I need to replenish some of my skincare, and have been meaning to pick up a full-size Colleen Rothschild Face Oil No. 9. It’s currently 15% off with code HONOR15. My favorite Radiant Cleansing Balm is beginning to run low, so I picked up another jar as well. If you love a rich and soothing moisturizer, I highly recommend the Extreme Recovery Cream. Check out her Memorial Day Deals HERE, and remember to use HONOR 15 for 15% off everything else.

Bioderma Sensibio H20 micellar water makeup remover. Details at une femme d'un certain age.

Dermstore is having a Summer Beauty & Skincare Sale, up to 20% off selected items. My favorite Bioderma micellar cleansing solution is included in the promotion, so I grabbed a couple of bottles. I use this as a makeup remover, and quick cleaner for brushes and tools. AND, I’ve discovered that it works really well to remove fragrance from skin! (You know, like when you spritz that one that everyone’s been raving about and absolutely can’t stand it an hour later? 😝) Use code SUMMER to get the discount.

Summer Shoes

Eileen Fisher espadrille sandals in light gold. These are SO comfortable! Details at une femme d'un certain age.

I still have and love these espadrille sandals. They’re incredibly comfortable and seem to go with everything. This color is now 41% off, in case you were interested. (Other colors are available, percent off varies.)

No, I haven’t given myself a fabulous pedicure. That photo is from last summer. 😆

Detail: Susan B. wears ECCO Soft 7 sneakers in "Fire" (red-orange). Info at une femme d'un certain age.

My favorite ECCO Soft 7 sneakers are 20% off in this fun color!

Ecco Soft 7 Sneaker in Dusty Blue. Details at une femme d'un certain age.

And this pretty soft blue is 34% off!

Wardrobe Winners

Anthropologie panther print henley top. Details at une femme d'un certain age.

Anthropologie is offering 25% off all clothing, accessories and shoes for AnthroPerks members. And free shipping over $50. The henley top I’m wearing here is included! And for those who may be Winters, that top is also available in this fun panther print! (And yes, you can button it up a bit more than she’s wearing here…)

Susan B. of une femme d'un certain age wears a gold linen sweater and scarf.

And these pants that I’ve been wearing on repeat the last few weeks (this color and the Camel) are 30% off. Chico’s has a big Memorial Day sale on, with wear-now pieces starting at $19.

J.Jill striped linen easy shirt. Details at une femme d'un certain age.

J.Jill has 40% off your entire purchase with code 40MAY, including this striped linen shirt. (I find an easy linen shirt is such a great piece to have on hand once the weather warms up. You can wear on its own, or open as a lightweight topper over a tank, tee, or swimsuit.)

Lands' End Tugless Tank in leaf print. Details at une femme d'un certain age.

And speaking of swimsuits, Lands’ End currently has 50% off your purchase with code HOLIDAY, including my favorite Tugless Tank (Plus). (Father’s Day is coming up, lots of stuff for the guys too…)

Vince men's striped slub cotton polo shirt. Details at une femme d'un certain age.

And while I’m thinking about Father’s Day, le Monsieur loves the lightweight polo shirts from Vince. They’re offering 25% off sitewide with code MAY25, so I’ve just ordered another one for him.

More sales worth a look…

Thank you so much for that tip with the Bioderma water. I use it all the time but never tried taking off that unfortunate scent trial with it. Our long weekend was last weekend, and the weather was not the best so I hope yours is wonderful. Stay safe, there are many out there who are not listening.

I second what Diane B says about tip of using Bioderma water to clean makeup brushes. Brilliant. Also, the smallest size of Bioderma water is great for travel (you do remember when we could travel, right?).

I’m finding that just about every retailer is having massive sales and with careful shopping many great deals are available. I just bought two of the EF silk jersey tanks you’ve recommended in the past for $29 each as well as EF jeans for $69. My current problem is not overspending on online shopping given the unprecedented sale prices (recognizing my good fortune that I have sufficient resources when so many are suffering).

Susan, I love the look of these pants on you. On the Chico’s website, they look much tighter fitting in the legs. Maybe it’s the ultra skinny model, but are they loose enough in the legs that you aren’t constantly pushing them down when you stand up?

Thanks, Sheri! I don’t find that they need to be pulled down or adjusted at all. I wear mine all day: sitting, standing, walking with no issues. And I have fairly muscular legs.

Hi Jane, thanks, and I’m sorry about that. My links ARE safe, and this seems to be a function of an aggressive spam filter on one particular email platform. You can try adding info@unefemme.net as a “safe” or preferred sender in your email settings, and that may disable the warning. The tech support folks on my end have been working on this for months, but unfortunately it seems to be outside of our control. But just to reiterate, the links in emails and newsletters from info@unefemme.net ARE safe.

The Lands’ End long torso swimsuits are the best, so comfortable, and the Rash Guard shirts as well. My husband is so hard on his clothes. I have found Brooks Brothers polo style shirts are the best, they last forever and hold their color, sale prices are good and fairly frequent.

I’ve been reading your blog for a few years. It has been helpful to watch you transition to your new color palette and style. It has all come together and you look great. I already had one of the Landsend swimsuits, a couple of years old, and just bought another. Thanks for sharing your style journey with us.

I am looking for tennis shoes in a colors like pretty light blue.and pink. I don’t own any in pretty colors, just black, white, navy, gray, cream. I am noticing colors being worn more and I love the lift they give an outfit.

I just ordered the Rothschild recovery cream on your recomendation.
I also ordered the Bioderma & 3 other products when you mentioned you could also clean your makeup brushes with this product.Love products that can multi-task.
I also ordered 2 new pairs of Fit Flops @ 20% off as they brought back their toe sling style which is the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn.
Next new shape wear & underwear as tossed some of my favorite sad pairs in a closet/lingerie clean up & out.
Finally new black pants on deep sale from Eileen Fisher as I wore out 2 pairs in quarantine.
I have been so disciplined during this quarantine but went on a bit of a virtual spree today.

I love and swear by Bioderma micellar water for apres makeup removal. But my most favorite is Bioderma Atoderm shower cleansing oil for dry skin. Oh it’s heavenly. I haven’t used bath soap in over a year. My skin is so much less itchy and dry. Thanks for the links to some great sales.

I’ve wanted to try that Atoderm shower oil for ages–my question is, does it make the shower floor slippery? That’s been holding me back. Thanks for your reply if you happen to see this.

Patricia, the Atoderm cleansing oil does NOT make the floor slippery. It’s not an actual oil, but works like an oil. I think you will love it!

Thanks for the tips. Rainy day here so good day to shop the internet. BTW, what was your opinion abut the mosquito repeller? If it works I need one!

It does seem to work. Takes a few minutes to warm up, but after that the mosquitoes stay away.
