How can it be almost Memorial Day already? It feels like this year is just zooming by! Many of the holiday weekend sales have kicked off already, and I’ve been sifting through the offerings. I always try to keep an eye on your favorites (based on what you click on most often) to let you know if they go on sale.
Memorial Day Sale picks
Nordstrom is having their big Half-Yearly Sale. There are some pretty substantial markdowns, so if there’s something you’ve had your eye on, you might want to swing back and see if it’s included.
Many of you went in for a closer look at this cute tweed jacket. It’s now 40% off, and still available in most (Misses) sizes. You could wear this casually with jeans as shown, or with trousers to the office or for an evening out. (Here’s the same style in Plus, at 25% off.)
This linen blend cardigan was another popular choice. I’d originally shown you the navy a few weeks ago, but this vibrant aqua blue would look great with white jeans or a summer dress. It’s also 40% off, and most sizes are still available in this color. (Here’s the Plus option, at 25% off.)

This is a darling little top. Since I can’t wear a tuck and feel comfortable, I wear these little tanks that tie in front instead. It’s way too hot for jackets here already but I’ll keep this in mind.
Oooh, I LOVE the linen cardigan. Thanks for reminding me – although I just culled my summer sweaters and realized that everything that stayed fell into either the aqua/teal or orange/gold spectrum. Maybe the khaki for variety …
I also loved the way the Ann Taylor cotton crops look on you and ordered them a few weeks ago. They looked and fit great straight out of the package, but after several wears, they’re a little disappointing. They run a bit large, but they also stretch out and bag and lose their shape very quickly, as well as wrinkling more than I’d expect when washed and dried, even after ironing. I keep tugging them up – will probably have to wear a belt or take them in at the waist. So, maybe expect that they’ll look more casual in action.
