Happy Mothers’ Day!

Pivoines from Paris, from me to you

(Yes, I’ve posted this a day early, intended to catch those of you in earlier time zones, or who may be offline tomorrow.)

I wish you a lovely day, spent in whatever way is most satisfying to you.

Sadly, I’m the last Mom left in our immediate family. I told le monsieur I don’t want any flowers or gifts or to go out to brunch; I just want a few hours to clear and re-plant my herb garden for the season, and maybe throw something on the grill for dinner. I don’t want to fight the crowds or make a big production. Easy-peasy sounds really good about now.

Happy Mothers’ Day to you!

  1. That plan sounds like a wonderful way to spend your day. The UK Mother’s Day was in March so perhaps I can have 2!!! Enjoy your day tomorrow and thank you for the lovely flowers.

  2. The flowers are absolutely lovely! Peonies from Paris are perfect for me. My son’s 15th birthday is on Sunday the 13th as well so the boy and the dad have some activities planned so that I can have a few hours in the middle of the day to just stretch out and sip some San Pelegrino while I read a good book. I’m not even thinking of dinner. Enjoy your garden time.

  3. That is a passage, to be the matriarch, a powerful role. I have a mother in law left, a luminous influence. She called me today to thank mr for “two wonderful grandchildren”, so kind. Happy Mothers’ Day to you, too!

  4. I feel like I can almost smell those peonies. I hope you have a relaxing Mother’s Day, Pseu!

    Amities,
    Marsi

  5. Lovely. I adore peonies. And I didn’t know the French word for them, so thanks to you now I do!

Had a wonderful talk with my mom, who is spending the afternoon with my brother and his family – She is not only a mother, but also a grandmother and great-grandmother three times over now!

  6. Happy Mother’s Day to you all. I’m just now sitting down to review some blogs and say hello. I had a wonderful day with my family and I am so grateful.
