Dreaming of Spring - Paris
Dreaming of Spring – Paris by deja pseu featuring Burberry Prorsum coats

It’s that time of year, when those of us in colder climes start getting VERY tired of winter. And this one has really been a doozy for so many of you. So here’s a little printemps en Paris fantasy to remind us that winter won’t last forever!

  1. I find this ensemble soft, chic, and delightfully wearable, Pseu! One suggestion: upgrade scarf from Topshop to, well, to the one it imitates. It might take saving but it’s worth it.

  2. Sal – hope you get to take your warm vacation soon! We’re actually getting ready to head off into the frozen Rockies to go skiing in a couple of weeks…

Duchesse – thanks! Unfortunately because Hermès uses Flash for their online boutique, one can’t upload their images into Polyvore, so it’s pot luck trying to find a decent looking scarf.

  3. Rain rain and more rain in LA. Keep dry.

I have a wonderful drapey, subtly iridescent raincoat I bought many years ago at Fleur de Paris in New Orleans – and why is it I can’t bring myself to wear it when it rains here in LA? There it was perfect. Here it seems to be too much, too flowing, too feminine. Why?

  4. Oh, I’m so looking forward to springtime, although in our case so far weather has been far milder than usual – we have had a bit of rain. A tiny dusting of snow this morning, but it has just made the accumulated banks on the tiny lawns in front of our triplexes (with curly outdoor staircases) look cleaner – it has melted off the roads and pavements.

We’ll probably get another whack of snow before winter ends and I can haul out my pretty old Raleigh Sprite (mixte frame) bicycle.

I can’t imagine WANTING to go somewhere frozen, but am sure that is very different if one lives somewhere it never gets very cold.

As for the outfit, very lovely but not my colours. I’d want the raincoat in Paris-roof grey. And perhaps a red umbrella!

  5. Thank you – we have had quite a harsh winter in London, though it’s warming up a bit now. One of my problems has been what to wear on my feet (in the snow). I’ve mostly been wearing a pair of old Clark’s boots but think I’ll have to replace them soon with something similar to those you’ve chosen here.

  6. We’ve got warm enough weather here right now that my Burberry raincoat is the perfect weight. It’s silver-metallic which seemed a risky departure from the classic when I bought it, but which really cheers me in the grey January rains. And now I can imagine it in Paris spring rain, thanks to you and your skill with Polyvore!

  7. So true! It’s time to get out of the frozen north and take a trip somewhere warm … preferably wearing this glorious ensemble you’ve concocted. Oh, those BOOTS!

  8. We have had cold weather for nearly a month now. As I write, it is -21° C, and I rather would stay under blankets, if I could. I like the knit of your choices. Is it grey?

  9. I WANT that cardigan! If only I had an extra $400…

Did you ever get your LL Bean Sailor Shirt? I just ordered one and was wondering how you liked it.

  10. We’re heading for 39 degrees (C) tomorrow, so almost envying your winter. I LOVE that outfit – I want absolutely everything in it!!

  11. Want, want, want that little ensemble you’ve got there. So perfect for me and it is just fab.

I wish I had some moolah pour le shopping. *sigh.
