  1. Bought a great tee at Madewell last October. After 2 washings the tee developed at least 5 holes in the front. This is happening more and more with many tees and tops that I have. Even my friends have experienced the same thing. Are you familiar with this? So disappointing!

    1. I think it’s because cotton is getting expensive and people want a smooth finish, so manufacturers are making thinner threads. I have a cotton knit top from decades ago, and it’s twice as thick as anything I can get today, with a rougher finish. The color has faded, but the cloth has held up. I may dye it so I can keep wearing it.
