My Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Wish List: Fewer But Better
My approach to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has shifted over the years: less “shop it all,” more “fewer but better.” This year’s wish list reflects that — a tightly edited mix of new pieces and a few tried-and-true favorites I re-stock when the prices drop. Early access for cardholders starts rolling out today, and the sale opens to everyone July 18.
The Style Picks: Denim, Suede & A Little Jade
1. I was so happy to see these popular straight-leg jeans offered in a Petite length, and can’t wait to try them!
2. I’m finding short sleeve sweaters to be a versatile layer, and look forward to adding one in my favorite neutral (brown). Sizing note: fit is very relaxed, suggest sizing down if you prefer a more fitted look.
3. A watch is one of the accessories I wear daily. I love the look of this one, and the mix of clean classic design with a pop of color.
4. I couldn’t resist the little gold dragon charm on this pretty jade bracelet!
5. There are so many tempting suede and leather jackets in this sale! My top pick is this one from AllSaints. Sizing note: runs roomy, suggest sizing down.
6. One of my favorite scented candles, “Heirloom Tomato” in a large size!
7. Perforated leather shoes are an option to sandals on warmer days, and you can wear them into fall—just add a sock when it turns cool. I love the fun buckle details on this budget-friendly Mary Jane. Several neutral colors available. Note: these have a nicely cushioned insole.
The Re-Stocks: Sleep, Skincare & Essentials
8. The only thing better than a silk sleep mask, is a leopard print silk sleep mask! 🐆 (Lots of other colors & prints available too.)
9. I love my Blissy silk pillowcase, adding a backup for laundry day.
10. I recently tried these Chantelle briefs, and they really do live up to the hype! Smooth, comfortable, invisible, and they stay in place! I’ll be adding a few pairs while they’re marked down.
11. These pajamas are lightweight and breathable! Lots of colors and prints available. Sizing note: have purchased these in past years and find they run true-to-size.
12. Yes, this one’s a splurge, but I LOVE Augustinus Bader’s “Rich Cream.”
13. I pick up a bottle of this Fabric Wash every year, use for my delicates and silk pieces. There’s also an unscented option.

Better in Person
I was able to preview some of the sale items at my local Nordstrom store, and wanted to flag a few pieces that are better in person than they look online.
Veronica Beard Cotton Cardigan – $299.99
The online images make this cardigan look shaggy and a bit drab. I was shocked by how much better this looks in person—much more interesting, structured, and refined than the photos show!
rag & bone Stripe Cropped Shirt – $175.99
Online this shirt looks like a snoozefest, but up close it’s eye-catching. The blue stripes have a hatched pattern, and the fabric is a lovely light poplin. Sizing note: this style runs large, suggest sizing down.
Vionic Loafer – $89.99
I brake for leopard print, and this one stopped me in my tracks when I spotted it on the sale table. Really cute, and has Vionic’s excellent arch support. (It’s also offered in several solid colors.)
Vince Crewneck Cashmere Sweater – $218.99
Pretty in pink! This 100% cashmere pullover is a nice weight for layering. This color is not far off Geranium pink in the Spring palette, but it’s soft enough that I think some Summers could wear it as well. Winters, check out the Emerald color!!
Sizing note: unlike many Vince sweaters, it’s cut slim; I suggest sizing up if you want a less fitted look.
And remember, if something you love sells out quickly, keep it on your Wish List and check back daily throughout the sale. Many items get re-stocked, and you may get a second bite at your apple!
