Theory 'Sala' Silk Top

Theory ‘Sala’ Silk Top. Don’t mind that look of concentration on my face, I LOVE this top!!

So the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is now open to all! The Theory top above is one of the items I’ve purchased, and will show you more soon. Below are my picks so far from the sale. While I did spot a lot of “fun” pieces, I’ve tried to edit my selections to those items that I think could be real wardrobe builders and work horses. These tend to be the things that sell out most quickly, too. I’ve also updated my “Things I Love” page with sale selections, and will continue to update if I see new items added to the sale that might be of interest. Without further ado….

    Where is everybody??
    Thanks, Sue, for the picks.
That Pendleton raincoat looks tempting for my upcoming Paris trip (yep, I did book it! 17 days in late Sept-mid Oct for my 60th birthday). Does anybody know anything about Pendleton sizing?? It says it runs large and to order a size down. I never know what size to order because I’ve lost a lot of weight but still have a big bust … Any advice, anyone?

Since Nordstrom offers free shipping, order a couple of sizes at best guess according to the size chart, and just send back the one that doesn’t fit.

Thanks, Nicole! I did that. (A lot of Sue’s picks are already gone!)

Wow, we sure have to move fast. Loved (and decided to get) three items from Sue’s list and one was already gone. Can’t wait until the other two arrive.

Actually I saw this post with the picks late last night and tried to get on the Nordstrom site, but it was down in prep for the big sale … and said it would be functioning at 3 am. Well, I had to go to sleep!

Sue, the silk top: it looks good on big busts? I ordered a drapey Theory top from Saks a month or so ago and I had to send it back, I looked like a house. But I really like that zipper thing in the front.

Ah, never mind, it isn’t in black in my size now…

Judy, I think so, yes. It has a bit of gathering at those front shoulder yokes, so doesn’t sit too tight across the chest. And the zipper means no gaping between buttons!

Just a note about items being sold out…keep checking back. I’ve found in past years that some items/colors/sizes become available again as people return items purchased at the start of the sale that didn’t work out.

        Merci!

I second that. in fact, you can call Nord’s and the rep will check inventory for you. So even if something is no longer on the website, you still have a chance!

I shoppd the sale at the store and was underwhelmed. As often happens, the things I liked best were not on sale. I walked down the hall to Nordstroms rack and found a really nice Eileen Fisher sweater on the clearance rack for 60% off, and two shirts for my husband, so alls well.
I usually like to go to this sale because it’s my first look at what will be the trends for the upcoming fall season, so I don’t necessarily care if I buy. This year looks to be not so much different from the last.

That Theory top looks much nicer on your than the mode; they should have used your photo!

Loved the cashmere sweater with zippers, cute idea.
