Look du jour: variation on a theme
I often repeat outfits I like, or make slight tweaks that change up the look just enough to make it feel fresh.
I really like the combo of navy and mustard that I first shared here and here. For a different take on this look I swapped out the cardigan for a navy striped sweater, added a belt, and changed up some jewelry and the shoes.

With colder weather and longer sleeves, my bracelets don’t show up as much. So I like to add a ring or two. J.Crew and Madewell both have some nice looking, modern sculptural pieces in their jewelry collections. And much of it is currently marked down.

Hi Susan,
I like your fresh look with your metallic sneakers. Ah stripes, now you’ve got me thinking about what I could pair with my pants next winter, patterned tops might be the answer. Thank you.
Best wishes,
Julie
Check out Sanctuary. They have some nice looking cargo pants for a lot less money.
Love the pants, Susan! As a fellow petite, I’m wondering if you shortened the length and if so, were other alterations needed to preserve the line?
Much thanks!
Sherry
Hi Sherry, thanks! I didn’t need to shorten these; they hit me just at the ankle.
Happy Holidays! Thank you for your posts – reading them are such a nice part of my day.
That’s a new one for me, ruti. Do they run true to size?
Hi Kay, I find it varies, but these particular pants do run TTS, or even a skosh large.
I would try some Navy Loafers with that sweater and trousers.
You are very good in changing an outfit with stuff from your own wardrobe. I still find it very difficult, although I am making progress.
