Look du jour: variation on a theme

I often repeat outfits I like, or make slight tweaks that change up the look just enough to make it feel fresh.

Susan B. wears a navy striped cashmere sweater, leather belt, mustard trousers, gold ring, metallic sneakers.

I really like the combo of navy and mustard that I first shared here and here. For a different take on this look I swapped out the cardigan for a navy striped sweater, added a belt, and changed up some jewelry and the shoes.

With colder weather and longer sleeves, my bracelets don’t show up as much. So I like to add a ring or two. J.Crew and Madewell both have some nice looking, modern sculptural pieces in their jewelry collections. And much of it is currently marked down.

  1. Hi Susan,
I like your fresh look with your metallic sneakers. Ah stripes, now you’ve got me thinking about what I could pair with my pants next winter, patterned tops might be the answer. Thank you.
    Best wishes,
    Julie

  2. Love the pants, Susan! As a fellow petite, I’m wondering if you shortened the length and if so, were other alterations needed to preserve the line?
    Much thanks!

  3. You are very good in changing an outfit with stuff from your own wardrobe. I still find it very difficult, although I am making progress.
