Outfit: Relaxed Classic Casual
An easy classic casual outfit with a knit blazer. Everything I’m wearing here is on sale (except jewelry)!
I love an easy throw-on-over-anything relaxed blazer. This one’s from Caslon, and is a great budget-friendly find from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. It’s still available in several colors and sizes, and in Plus, too!
These slingbacks from Vince are so comfortable, I’ve even worn them out to walk the dog. I’m really glad I went for the red; they add such a nice pop! Vince shoes usually run about 1/2 size large, so think about sizing down. I did, and the fit is perfect.

The red shoes really make the outfit! And, of course, your dog makes the room!
Thanks, Jill!
Had to go back and see what you were wearing, as I was so entranced by your blissfully relaxed dog!
I bought (and kept) the red Vince shoes, also. Next on my list — if ever back in stock — are the navy suede ones. So great!
Love the red shoes!
Thanks, Mary!
I love this outfit! Do the Vince shoes offer any arch support?
Thanks, Cathy! Yes, they have a little bit of arch support.
Ohhhhhh- those red shoes are so cute!!!
Thanks, Roxanne!
Speaking of relaxed, your pup in the background is a picture of relaxation. Love the outfit too!
Hi Susan! Your outfits are always terrific. Love the pop of color with your shoes & your pup matches the jacket!!!
Hi Margi, thanks so much!
I love that you have chosen the red shoes they look great with your outfit. I have to agree with the other’s your beautiful dog has stolen the photo.
Sadly I have had planter fasciitis this whole year and have been unable to wear most types of nice shoes.
You and Gigi are color coordinated!
I just saw Robin’s comment about plantar fasciitis. I recently bought a pair of Orthofeet sneakers, the Nira model, and my first reaction when I put them on was that I wished I had had these when I had plantar fasciitis! They let you wear them outdoors and indoors and you can still exchange or return them within 60 days. I have bunions and arthritis and these are remarkably comfortable shoes. I still love my HOKA Bondi 8s, but these Nira by Orthofeet have a stretch upper and are more comfortable in the hot summer weather when the feet swell. A bonus is that you tie them once and then just step in and out of them, which makes them like a high end Kizik. My orthosurgeon (who repaired a ruptured anterior tendon in one of my feet) said they were an excellent choice for foot pain. They sell sandals as well.
Thanks Marie for your recommendation on shoes I have had a hard time trying to find shoes that are comfortable and don’t cause extra problems I also have osteoarthritis in my feet. I will have a look at the shoes you mentioned I live in Australia so hopefully I can find them here.
Ha! That outfit is so relaxed that it put the dog to sleep. The page for that blazer says it is a cotton/poly blend. I am wondering how stiff or thick is the material. Is it soft yet mildly structured?
Heh! It’s quite soft, and not thick or heavy. But does have enough structure to give it shape.
Thanks!
Dear Susan,
Two books you may want to consider prior to your trip to Paris are both by Elaine Sciolino. “The Only Street in Paris” and “The Seine” – The River that made Paris.
Both are fascinating reads.
I love the red shoes. And the happy dog in the photo.
