Paris Style Notes: Fall 2025 Trends Spotted on the Streets
Whew! My Paris visit was a whirlwind, and I barely had a moment to sit down and organize my notes. We didn’t get to half of the things on the list, but that’s OK, because… PARIS!
I’ll have a more comprehensive report soon: the scenery, the style, where I stayed, and what I wore. But in the meantime, here’s a quick snippet of Paris style trends for fall 2025, especially the accessories and details that stood out.
Overall Look: Classic with a Twist
For the most part, I didn’t see any new or overarching trends when it came to clothing. Still a lot of straight and full-leg jeans, worn with sneakers and shorter (high hip to mid-hip length) jackets or trenches.
But a few color and accessory trends definitely caught my eye…
Trending Colors in Paris Fall 2025
That pistachio-chartreuse green was everywhere, especially in sweaters. Brown and cognac tones dominated, with burgundy a close second, while ochre made a strong showing as an accent color. And of course, Parisians still wear plenty of black, though it’s no longer as ubiquitous as it once was.
Pearls Make a Comeback
On the way to dinner the first night, within 15 minutes we spotted three or four women (and one man!) wearing strands of pearls, real or faux, with simple, casual outfits. Some wore a single strand; others layered multiple. Sizes ranged from medium to bold statement pearls.
Stud Details on Bags & Shoes
Lots of studded details, both subtle and bold, showed up on handbags, belts, and shoes. A touch of edge to balance softer textures and neutrals.
Oversized Eyewear
Paris eyewear shops are always inspiring, and this season, oversized frames were everywhere. While the small oval “CBK” shape made an appearance, I noticed more women in large, dramatic styles, either refined or chunky.
Suede & Shearling
As temperatures cooled, suede became the texture of the moment, from boots and bags to jackets. By the end of my visit, a few shearling and faux-shearling coats were starting to make appearances too.
I’ll have lots more from Paris soon, so stay tuned! If you’re headed to Paris and plan to do some shopping, here are some of my favorite affordable shops in Paris.

I love your fashion recaps on your travels. Could you please tell us what women were wearing in London too? Since I’m a summer color palette the chartreuse green trend won’t be for me. I am glad the straight leg jean is popular. Enjoy your trip Susan!
I am hanging on every dispatch from your trip and just love getting your updates. I am delighted to hear about pearls in Paris, count me in. I love the pistachio green I’m seeing everywhere, as a bright winter I’d pair it with cobalt or red.
Hi Susan,
I was wondering how those Veja sneakers fit. I have a wide Ish foot, had to size up 1/2 size in the Aquatalia boots. Do they run narrow and do they have a good arch support? I have tried a couple of pairs of stylish sneakers, and they have either run narrow or it feels like I’m walking on cardboard especially when compared with the Hoka’s I usually wear.
Thanks!
Hi Lisa, I’m afraid I haven’t tried those sneakers. I included them in the set as you see a lot of them in Paris (as well as all kinds of sneakers, hard to go wrong).
I also have a wider foot, and can’t wear Aquatalia because they are too narrow for me. I have a pair of Vejas. They are slightly narrow for me in the toe box, and I find them to have no arch support, but you can remove the insole and put your own in.
Fun report! I love how you notice small details, like the pearls. Safe travels!
Ooh. Pearls! And on a man?! Love! I need to dig through my jewelry box and find my pearls, real and faux. Thanks!
I am just curious why you never stay longer on your trips than 2 weeks?
Hi Alexandra, I sometimes go away for 3-4 weeks. But a combination of cost, and not wanting to be away from my son and dog for too long both are factors.
Perfect timing! I leave for 10 days in Paris early next week. After I read your post, I dug out my pearls and, by some miracle, found a tee shirt at old navy in ‘mountain olive’ – sort of the pistachio chartreuse color. So I am set. Enjoy the rest of your journey.
So what would the cooler version of this seasons hot color chartreuse be ?
Hi Elizabeth, Raspberry would be a nice color pop that works well with burgundy and other cool neutrals.
Hi Susan,
I love your blog/posts and your packing tips have been invaluable to me.
I am a medium Autumn…would the pistachio-chartreuse work for me? I think not?
Thank you!
Hi Darla, yes most Autumns can wear Pistachio, it’s in your palette. (Blue Autumns may want to only wear in small doses, or away from the face.)
Oooo, love it, can’t wait to hear more! Tailored; chartreuse, suede, brown and cognac; simple pearls; a little rock-et-roll edge with a few studs; no bulk–magnifique! Thank you for the insight, Susan! Bises
I always love your takes on Parisian stylings. I like all the elements you described. It sounds like even les Parisiennes are a bit less formal these days, if still as put together as ever.
Enjoying your travel posts and capsule ideas with warmer colors instead of black. What colors for tops do you suggest for a “bright spring” for a fall trip to Italy?
Hi PD, thanks! There are a lot of good spring Terracotta and orange shades out now, as well as Cinnamon, and Geranium red.
Hmmm..I do have many pearls. Time to wear them again I guess.
