More new-for-fall finds (and they’re all marked down!)
Even if we still have a few weeks of warm weather ahead, I love combing through the new fall styles. Fall always feels like a fresh start, and it’s a great time to update your wardrobe. I wanted to share these finds right away, as they’re currently marked down (but for a limited time).

These sweater blazers have been one of my wardrobe staple for the last few years. They’re a good weight for transitional season wear, and easy to throw on over just about anything. This updated style has a rounded notched collar, and is available in 6 neutral colors, sizes XX-Small to 3X. (I’ve ordered in the Walnut color to try.)
The “Vintage Straight” corduroy pants were another favorite last fall. They’re offered this year in several colors, in Classic, Petite and Tall sizes. (This pine color is a nice black alternative.)
For those who have asked what to wear with cropped pants once the weather turns chilly, here’s one suggestion 👆. These higher shaft chelsea boots are offered in black as well.

Hi Susan, I bought some gorgeous Cole Haan high shaft boots last spring but they aren’t comfortable. The shaft hits me on the front of my leg where there it rubs on my tibia. I’ve tried putting some padding where it hurts but that hasn’t been a good solution and the leather hasn’t softened enough to help.
Do you have any thoughts or experience about how to combat this? I haven’t known who to ask.
p.s. I’m typing this on my computer rather than iPad in hopes of avoiding a typo!
Hi Wren, I’m wondering if a cobbler could add a gusset or somehow soften up the leather in front? My suggestion would be to start there if you feel the boots are otherwise worth investing in.

I looked lovingly at the quilted jacket from Talbot’s in French Pink, but it wasn’t on my list of things to purchase this fall. I need some new jeans and shoes to replace those that are showing their age.
My sister sent me a text on Tuesday to watch for a package from Talbot’s. It came today! It was the jacket in pink! What a treat.
