A little bit of Paris comes to L.A.
I’ve been a fan of the French brand Sézane for some years now, but previously could only shop online (unless I was visiting either Paris or New York). I’d hoped to visit one of their Paris shops during our stay last month. But time got away from us, and I missed my opportunity.
So I was thrilled to find out they’d be doing a pop-up in my neck of the woods, at the Platform in Culver City!
I paid a visit earlier this week, and found a charming and welcoming space. There was a good variety of styles (though not as extensive as online). The displays had enough space that you could clearly see the merchandise.
While some of Sézane’s styles are a little too frou-frou or Bohemian for me, I do find they carry a selection of great basic pieces with the kind of subtle details that elevate them above generic.
I just swooned over the color of that jacket (coral), so I had to try it on…and it came home with me.
jacket | top (similar) | necklace | jeans (similar) | bag | scarf | sandals
The jacket, scarf and sandals are all from the Sézane pop-up. This is the kind of “dressed up casual” look that hits my style sweet spot for date night or meeting a friend for lunch.
I’m wearing a size 38 in the jacket, and 38 in the sandals (these run a little small; I’m usually a 37 in sandals). The sleeves on the jacket are a little long; I’m going to see about having them taken up. I find most of their clothing runs true-to-size. Unfortunately they don’t offer extended sizes at this time, and top out at 14.
Just LOVE these sandals! They can dress up or down and that low heel makes them comfortable to walk in.
Sézane offers free shipping on orders over $200, and returns are free and easy (a return label is included with your order.) They also provide information regarding the environmental footprint of each item (fabric, where it’s made, how it’s shipped from factories). This isn’t a sponsored post, nor did I receive any gifted items.
Here are a few more pieces from their current collection which tick that “elevated basics” box…

That jacket color is delicious! Like orange sherbet! Lucky you to have the pop up so close!
Adding The Platform to my list of places to go next time I am in LA; soon both of my children will live there. The jacket is fab, by the way!
Love the decor in the pop up! And, the jacket and sandals are perfect for you — j’adore!
At the same time, I have to say I find it ironic that their wall art says “fashion for every body,” yet the largest size on offer is a 14. Huh?
Thanks and I know, that does irk.
We will be in New York at the end of May and I will definitely be stopping by Sezane! I had never heard of them before, but I love their style. BTW, any news on Gigi? She has been in my thoughts.
I love that bag in the fourth picture next to the beautiful coral jacket you purchased. What a treat to have that little shop in your neighborhood!
Isn’t it lovely, though? Here’s a link to the bag, if you’re interested: https://bit.ly/3vHZwVr
Thank you!
I came back to say more about the sandals — I absolutely love them and ordered an 11, in the same gold you chose. These sandals offer my favorite option — nothing tight around the ankles. I broke one (ankle) once, and it’s larger than normal — this style allows me style and comfort. Thanks so much for featuring this brand!
Thanks, Bette, hope you love them as much as I do!
Hi Susan
LOVE the blazer, I need something coral in my closet. This outfit is beautiful, love the sandals with the look as well. I know of Sezane, and their clothes are just gorgeous. I love the look of the store, very elegant.
jess xx
Thanks, Jess!
Gorgeous jacket!!!
Thank you!
What a great collection from Sezane in France. Lucky you to have that available in CA.
I will have to wait until late October to be able to shop in Paris…the last part of a trip on a newly launched Emerald ( based in Vancouver) cruise ship the Azzurra… Rome to Nice and around Corsica. Just 100 passengers max. My kind of cruising!
Taking TGV to Paris and staying in St Germain this time. Hope to see Notre Dame, after some repairs.
I just found a 3/4 coat at Hobb’s in London, in a similar coral colour to your linen one. Wore it to see Manina @ Red Leopard appointment last week. Went away with the last Emma Shipley coral and turquoise silk scarf . Felt like a star!! Never too late to treat oneself at 72 !
Aren’t you a lucky girl! Imagine, that French shop sooner opens shop in the USA than in the Netherlands. Our country is too small, I guess.
You did well in the shop. Lovely items. You are very much into jackets these days, aren’t you? The sandals look very comfortable although I get blister from every summer shoe. You are the best in flat shoes. Great taste.
Greetje
Thanks, Greetje! Yes, I’m finding some good blazers these days. The Sézane shop manager told me that sales have been through the roof, so I’m hoping they’ll consider adding a permanent store here.
Some very nice-looking classic styles. I saw a button front t-shirt, the V-neck appears fairly low cu, and as a petite it would be even lower (gasp).
Your shoes look like the same style that Anna Wintor {Spelling?} always wears.
After long following this brand online and loving their styles, I am disappointed that they still do not carry larger sizes. The gall to put on the pop up wall “French Every Body Can Speak”! I had the same problem living in Paris, but since they advertise here now, I do wish they would (pardon the pun) expand.
