weekend getaway: LA staycation

Eileen Fisher silk tunic, layered necklaces
Evening attire to beat the heat: an easy silk tunic and layered necklaces worn with slim stretch ankle pants.

Tomorrow is le Monsieur’s birthday, so we’re taking off for a weekend “staycation.” Later today we’ll be checking into a nice hotel nearby to enjoy some pampering and a couple of days of being off the leash. Nothing on the schedule except dinner reservations. 🙂

My weekend away wardrobe planning (mostly for evenings) required a sudden switch to Plan B, as we’re heading into yet another heat wave. I’m still keeping an eye on the forecast and noodling over what to bring. I’ll share some in situ outfit pictures on Instagram and Facebook.

Shown above – tunic: Eileen Fisher, prior season (similar) | necklaces: French Kande here and here.

  1. Love the tunic. I haven’t gotten there yet ( buying a tunic) but I like this look . Thanks and enjoy the get away,

  2. I wish you a very nice weekend with your husband Sue! Happy birthday! The tunic and the necklaces are fabulous!

  3. Happy Birthday and Staycation. Your husband had the good sense to be born Canadian Thanksgiving weekend- always a 3 day weekend here! Enjoy.

    1. Susan, thanks! Not anytime soon, unfortunately.:-( Forecast for today is 98F. Think we’ll be spending most of the day indoors.

  4. Hurrah for getaways! Since the fact of going out in and of itself is already a huge lift, I can only imagine how much higher you’ll feel wearing clothes you adore. Maybe you’ll even pick up some new favourites while you’re out. Raise a glass – or more – of wine and empty your head – in a good way of course. Happy birthday to le Monsieur.
