Stylish Summer Shoes & Sandals That Feel as Good as They Look
When temperatures rise, it’s tempting to reach for the easiest pair of shoes in the closet—but comfort doesn’t have to mean sacrificing style. Especially in summer when our outfits are lighter and simpler, stylish footwear can really make the look. Whether you’re planning a getaway, meeting friends for lunch, or just running errands, these stylish and comfortable women’s summer shoes and sandals will keep your feet cool and happy!
Statement sandals
Comfortable sandals don’t have to be boring! Colorful and embellished styles will add an exclamation point to your outfit, while keeping your feet cool & supported.

Above, a simple, neutral summer look gets a boost with texture, and rivet-studded detail on the sandals. (The vest is 100% cotton, and a new favorite!)

You know how much I love a jolie laide shoe! These sandals are SO comfortable, I’ve been wearing them almost daily! They’re also available in a taupe color with silver hardware.
Stylish & comfortable sandals
These days, you can find a good selection of supportive and comfortable sandals with loads of style and personality! Look for favorite colors or patterns, interesting finishes (metallic is so versatile), embellishments or other fun details.

If you’re planning to travel with sandals, be sure to choose styles with plenty of cushioning and support, as you may be walking more than you would at home. Straps that adjust both across the ankle and toe area will provide maximum stability and comfort. Summer-friendly closed toe shoes
If you either can’t wear sandals or just prefer a more closed style, you can still keep your feet cool and comfortable in summer heat. Open weave and cutout styles allow for airflow, while still providing support and coverage.
I love these linen barrel pants from Madewell! (I sized up for a bit more length.)
I was intrigued by the look of these Margaux “Paz” flats when I first spotted them, and was pleasantly surprised by the nice cushioning in the insoles, and the softness of the leather. They were comfortable right out of the box! This is the Espresso color, also available in Black.
Breezy open-weave styles

No matter your summer style, the right pair of shoes can keep your feet happy while adding interest and personality to your outfits. Whether it’s a casual walking sandal or a sleek flat, there’s no need to sacrifice style for comfort. With so many stylish and supportive options available, it’s easier than ever to find footwear that works for your lifestyle—and your wardrobe.
What are your go-to comfortable shoes for summer? Have you found a pair that’s both chic and travel-friendly? I’d love to hear your favorites!

I have a pair of Remonte sandals…they have adjustable Velcro straps and a really nice padded footbed. More comfortable than my sneakers!
I am a devotee of SAS Relaxed sandals. They fit right in with jolie laide and are the first sandals I’ve ever worn that don’t t cause blisters in hot weather. And yes, I receive compliments.
plus 1, love my sas relaxed
I ordered the Seychelles Farrah Slides in mustard – they are very comfortable and cute. I love the pop of color. https://www.nordstrom.com/s/farrah-slide-sandal-women/8286211?origin=keywordsearch-personalizedsort&breadcrumb=Home%2FAll%20Results&color=251
Love the very cool and refreshing neutral look with all the interesting details to perk it up: the crochet-like weave of the vest,(I MUST find one to fit my 5’10” frame!) and YES! to the studded Birks. And yum the nail polish color. Thanks Susan, stay cool and hydrated everyone! xx
Oh that Chanel color reminded me of buying a Dior nail polish from Bonwit Teller in NY many years ago…I might have been 20…first job in the city..anyway that red is gorgeous!!
I now have 2 pairs of these Message slip ons…After so many years of Birkenstocks (and almost walking out with someone else’s at yoga!!) and I really like them. They say you can wash them, but I haven’t done that yet. They are pricey but very comfortable.
Take care and thank you for all the content!!

I have a pair of off-white sandals that are so comfortable! And my new vintage Jill Sander shoes too. All my other summer shoes give me blisters after a short while.
Greetje
I have a serious bunion so STRIVE is a good sandal option for me but if you know of any other please let me know.
My Arizona Birks are my new summer go-to, especially when standing in my kitchen. I also reach for my Ilse Jacobson tulip espadrilles when I want a pop of color. For walking, I love my On Cloud sneakers which recently carried me painlessly through France. So many great options for every foot and need!
I have all kind of sandals that I wear frequently. They must be comfortable for all kinds of walking. I like OnFoot Zen, aetrex and some great Birkenstocks( my husband gifted to me) and I am living in this summer.
Nice to see Naot Dorith as a choice here. I have 2 pairs and love, love, love them! Planning on getting another pair in a different color. They are my favorite sandals. They are so comfortable!
I second this Pat! I have three pairs of Naot Dorith sandals. I’ve had two of the pairs for years and they still look good and wear well. They accommodate the large post surgery bunion that I still have on one foot. The straps are adjustable for both my good and bad foot.
Clarks Cloudsteppers line of cute sandals provide great support and easily adjustable straps. They’re also lightweight, making them good for travel if you want to bring a couple pairs. They also go up to size 12.
