Summer Raffia and Straw Accessories for Cool Color Palettes
Raffia, straw, and crochet accessories are a great way to instantly make your outfits look more summery. But in natural tones, they tend to skew warm, color-wise. Many of you have requested summer accessories that work for the cool Winter and Summer color palettes. So I’ve done some searching and found some lovely options for you!
Winters, in addition to black and white, look for colors like Cobalt, Fuchsia, Dark Navy, Silver. Summers, Soft White, light and Chambray Blues, Silver, Gray, and (soft) Rose Pinks are all good options for you. For both seasonal palettes, you might find natural raffia or straw colors with a good amount of trim in your colors can also work.
Summer accessories in cool colors
This chic navy raffia tote with black leather trim is a nice everyday size. Comes with a removable pouch.

These cute flats provide toe coverage while still allowing for plenty of air flow. This blue is so pretty and would look great with white denim!
If there’s a special event on your calendar this summer, this embellished raffia clutch is the perfect “sidekick.” The soft white and silver combo is great for you Summers especially!

I think these are so cool! Perfect to wear with longer skirts or relaxed trousers. They’re also available in blue.
This fun knotted tote is lined, so no need to worry about losing those smaller bits & bobs. It’s also available in Ivory and Pink.

Jon Josef Bella cap toe ballet flats
Yes, there’s a bit of “natural” in this woven raffia pattern, but the black is predominant enough to work with a Winter palette. And they’ll read as more summery than a solid black ballet flat.

COS crocheted straw bucket hat
The interesting, open-weave pattern on this fun bucket hat also helps provide air flow. And it’s on sale!
This brand is known for comfort, and I love the interesting details, including the sporty platform sole.

Raffia, straw, and crochet summer accessories can lighten up your outfits, even in black or other cool colors. These accessories will elevate your summer style and keep you looking chic all summer long!

Timing is everything! An August wedding is on my calendar so I’m finalizing outfit details. Looking for a clutch bag this morning—the Frankie clutch will be perfect as I am a “summer,” so I’ve ordered it. Thank you so much, Susan!
Happy to oblige! 🙂 Glad it was helpful.
I’m a cool winter and this post was great! Thank you!!!
Thanks for the cool, in both senses of the word, summer accessories. I’ll have to check a couple of these out!
Slightly off topic, but regardless of you color group, I recommend avoiding black pants in the summer. A light to mid-grey would be a good substitute. I always have a large white dinner napkin in my car to place over my thighs to prevent sunburn if I’m wearing dark pants.
If you doubt the necessity for this, try the old school science project: take 2 identical classes, and fill each with ice. Then, put them out in direct sunlight. Cover one with a black cloth, the other with a white cloth. check it 15-30 minutes later. You may be shocked at the difference.
I am a winter and often wear white button down linen shirts with jeans or linen pants or a slip skirt. I have a woven natural straw shoulder bag with cognac leather handles and similar colored Mephisto flat sandals and I love how they complement my outfits. I rarely hold them up to my face 🙂 and find the browns and natural a softer more natural look for summer than my usual black footwear. The sandals may not be the “best” color for my feet, but I think they are the best look for the overall outfit and who doesn’t like bending the rules once in a while?!
Raffia is usually quite Bohemian. Not always I admit but as Bohemian is not my style, I stay away from it. I have enough summery stuff.
