  1. Honestly, I have been coveting the Lucky version for a long time (the one she’s actually carrying). But I did miss the trend the first time around. And I think this new version is just too much – maybe it’s the texture?

  2. Might have owned one of those at 20! Anyone coveting one now should be able to find them in a consignment shop or eBay in 4-6 months.

I wouldn’t mind the purpole houndstooth jacket on a much older man, with jeans and a pale blue shirt. Rough it up, get rid of the too matchy accessories and just maybe.

  3. Nancy – I swear, everytime I visit Style.com, the crazy posts just write themselves!

metscan – definitely too much going on here. I love the solid color balenciagas, though.

Good Life – remember the jeans too, with the stitched square patchwork pattern?

  4. Sher – I’ll pass on both of those trends as well.

Anne – the Lucky version is actually cute, because they let the pattern carry the bag and don’t muck it up with a bunch of extraneous details. I just thought it was funny that a high end designer seems to be copying something carried by a character who’s supposed to be so clueless about fashion.

Duchesse – don’t know if you’ve seen the show, but I just threw the “Mark” picture in there because that’s the kind of snotty look he always gives Betty’s ensembles. His character wears some eye-popping ensembles as well, though they’re supposed to me more high fashion.

  5. It must be one of those items meant to be worn ironically, although you could get the Real Deal at a thrift store without the eyepopping designer price tag. Or maybe it’s only truly ironic when you have to remortgage your house to buy it.

  6. these bags remind me of a by-gone era..did not like them the first time around nor this time 🙂

  7. I remember this bag! along with crochet vests at the time 😉

I think the younger girls would love it. But this trend (along with harem pants) I’ve lived through and just can’t bring myself to relive them LOL!
