J.Crew sequin tee, $69.50

If you have some holiday parties to attend, and not a lot in the budget for party clothes, this tee might be all you need to turn some of your basics into a party-ready ensemble. I’d pair with a black pencil or maxi skirt, or navy or black trousers for dressier events, and with nice jeans for a more laid-back fête. For those of you who are wary of J.Crew’s narrow cuts, this one is cut generously through the body. Also available in Black and Bronze.

I just ordered one, only black is left in my size. If you want one I suggest do not delay!

  2. I was eyeballing this top recently on my search for sequins – but decided against it because I really need to try it on first and didn’t want to deal with all the shipping hassle.
I do love a navy blue sequin this season. So pretty.

  3. Sequin tees have been in the air the past few Christmases and always make me smile. Besides J. Crew’s version I am also seeing them in places like Club Monaco and Zara. This is such a good colour, too.

  4. I bought his shirt last year for holiday parties in dark grey – people told me the sequins lit up my face.

  5. Cute shirt! I am so excited that sequins are in and that women of a certian age can have fun with them!

  6. Talbots has a nice selection as well. They have some long skirts for the holidays. One was to the floor, somewhat flared with a sheer voile overlay of horizontal ruffles from the waist to the hem. It was black, feminine but not too fussy.

  7. Who can resist a sparkly top? I like that you mentioned pairing it with a maxi. Do you ever wear maxi skirts? I can’t recall you wearing one and wondered if you like the look for yourself. I’ve been thinking of trying it.

  8. What an affordable way to ” get in a party mood “!
I appreciate the long sleeves, great at this time of the year. Wearing this top, with the sequins, I´d go easy with the rest of the jewelry; the top being a piece of jewelry in itself!
