Flowers and Mussels and Kilts, Oh My!

We spent the morning touring the Royal Botanical Gardens. Since yesterday the weather’s gone from cold and blustery to sunny and cool. It was perfect for strolling through the gardens, then spending the afternoon doing a bit more exploring town on foot.

Stopped in for lunch at The Doric. I had the recommended mussels and they were fabulous!

Ate every one.

This one’s for Faux Fuchsia. Yes, that’s a Missoni kilt! We’re having drinks (and using the Internet ) at the bar at the Missoni Hotel.

We should have better Internet availability after Thursday, so will share more pictures and details at that point.

  1. I love the botanics – my mother lives just along from them and I used to spend hours there with my daughter when she was a baby – we used to try and sneak in to play there when we were children but usually got chased off.

  2. Looks like fun to me, and you certainly know how to write a catchy post title 🙂 Lovely “skirt” on that gentleman. Smile isn’t half as bad either! 🙂 Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

  3. Oh wow! FF will love the Missoni kilt! And what a bonnie handsome Scotsman!! How lovely the weather looks too. Glad you are having a wonderful time. S x

  4. Oh, the botanical gardens! I loved it so much, my eyes got wet. Especially the huge entrance building, with all the services for the public and all those families going there and enjoying all facettes of nature.
A wonderful place for people who are eager for knowledge and nature at the same time.

The imitation of the Scotish Highlands is 100% perfect. I looked it up the afternoon I returned to Edinburgh, coming from the Highlands. They know their job very well!

Enjoy springtime in Scotland and those headturning kilts.

  7. Goodness! Until I saw the kilt-clad fellow above, I didn’t realize skirts are wasted on women. Be still my heart!
