Happy Thanksgiving (From My Home To Yours)

If you celebrate, I hope you’re spending the day in a way that brings you joy and contentment.

Autumn colors: liquidambar leaves with pine tree and blue skies in background.

Here are a few things that have been bringing me joy and contentment.

Bookshelf with books, photos, tulipiere with orange and yellow tulips.
Bella (small golden dog) sunbathing on brick patio.

I’ll be heading over to the Young Cousins’ this afternoon; they’re firing up the pizza oven and we’ll be enjoying some yummy homemade pizzas. Here’s what I’m making as a side dish to bring. This recipe is from an old issue of Bon Appetit. It’s really easy and always gets compliments.

And I’d like to take a moment to say thank you to all of you who read and comment and are a part of this little online community. I truly appreciate you more than I can say.

Happy Thanksgiving!

  3. Susan, Happy Thanksgiving. The kale salad recipe is a favorite in our family. Even if one is not a fan of kale. Thanksgiving, Hanukkah and Christmas, this salad will be on the menu. So glad you shared the recipe.

  7. Happy Thanksgiving to you as well! Very glad to hear that someone other than us eats something other than turkey. I’m making baked rigatoni (meatless; we’re pescatarian). LOL, though, I still make “the trimmings” : Homemade stuffing (with veggie sausage, apples, and walnuts) and homemade cranberry sauce (fresh cranberries cooked with orange marmalade and a touch of brown sugar and/or maple syrup) my own very easy version of a Joy of Cooking orange cranberry dish). Love Bella’s pose; I’ll bet she is giving thanks for you. Thanks!

[Atlantic article a couple days ago: why are these two holidays so close (and hectic)? Americans should follow the Canadian way, just kidding. 🙂 ] And like so many here, we too have many American friends and family, so of course we say a toast to them all this next weekend. I wish you and yours safety in traveling and the joy of an aesthetic approach to your days. I am thankful for you.
