Dressed for fall weather in a print sweater

Susan B. wears a fall outfit with a Petite Studio NYC color block sweater and J.Crew corduroy pants.

Knitwear is SO good this season! I’m all in for sweaters, especially those with interesting details like this wool pullover with a modern color block print.

The sweater has a relaxed fit. I’m wearing XS.

Today I’m joining up with my blogger friends from the Over 50 Style Team (Tania, Jennifer, and Deborah) to share some of our favorite knitwear. Be sure to check out their links at the bottom of this post.

At 5’1″, I find a lot of sweaters are just too long for me, so was happy to spot this one from Petite Studio. They specialize in styles for women 5’4″ and under. With so many brands cutting back on their petite sizes, it’s nice to have this resource.

These (weatherproof) boots are from a few seasons back and will be going with me to Italy. Here’s a similar waterproof style.

Did I mention it’s been a good season for knitwear? I’m loving the half-zip and polo sweater trends as well!

  1. Thanks for the mention of Petite Studio. I wasn’t familiar with that resource, and at 5’ 2” and change, I really need petite sizing for my narrow shoulders and shorter arms! And why are tops soooooo long, even in petites? I need all the leg length I can get and don’t want my top cutting off the top of my legs. My perfect top length is about 24”, and that is harder and harder to find!

  2. That is one of the prettiest I’ve seen. It just has that little extra something different in the design. The zips are great too. I wear a lot of those.

  3. Love the variety in the sweaters you are showing. That rose print is gorgeous and looks so soft. I enjoyed watching the IG with Pam and thank you for presenting it to the rest of us. I bet the anticipation for the trip is mounting every day. I have a friend leaving this weekend and she is so excited to go for 2 weeks, but the plane travel is the only thing bothering her. Wishing you nothing but great travels and fun for yours. Oh, and so envious of the shopping.

  4. I always look forward to your Over 50 Style Team talks. Would you consider doing one of these while on your trip or after it? It would be interesting to hear about the clothing picks, hairstyles, shopping practices from an EU/UK perspective. Maybe include your Dutch friend, Greetje, a German blogger Annette Holditch of Lady of Style (both speak perfect English), and perhaps a Red Leopard member as the UK perspective. Many thanks for considering this idea, Susan.
PS-I mentioned this on yesterday’s post.

  5. I’ve always liked polo type sweaters. The Reset (which you introduced me to!) has beautiful colored sweaters. I have a couple and they are so lovely!

  6. Thank you so much for showing options for all different color palettes! It’s very inspiring. I’m not petite (5’9”) so I can’t shop some of these particular styles, but I’ll cheer you on. So happy that you have beautiful options that fit you so well. Happy travels!

  7. I know someone suggested white or cream jeans in the Italy pack yesterday, but personally I don’t know how you are leaving those lovely cords out, they would look so good with all the tops and add variety over two identical jeans. Another two cents

  8. Love your suggested print sweaters. They are such a fun way to update jeans and other pants. Yours, in particular, looks great on you!

  9. That new sweater looks lovely on you. Nice pairing with the trousers and boots. I also love the rose print sweater although it is too sweet for me. But that last one, the bright sweater… that’s me!
