Spring Came Early: The Linen & Crochet Outfit I’m Wearing to Brunch (+ Weekend Sales!)

The calendar may say March, but someone clearly forgot to tell the weather. With temperatures soaring into the 80s these past few days, I’ve happily abandoned any pretense of waiting for “official” spring — and gone straight for the warm-weather wardrobe. I’ve already got my brunch outfit idea locked in for the weekend, and it’s giving all the right spring vibes: crochet, linen, and a sneaker I can’t stop wearing. Keep scrolling for the full look, plus some sales you won’t want to sleep on.

The Brunch Outfit: Crochet, Linen & a Sneaker I’m Obsessed With

Sis and I will be going out to brunch this weekend, and I already have my outfit ready. I’m pairing the cotton crochet top I featured here previously here with a pair of wide-leg linen pants. Both are 40% off this weekend!

That top is 100% cotton, really lightweight and cool! It adds both pattern and texture. The linen trousers are a nice weight — not too heavy, not too flimsy — and are refined enough for Smart Casual looks. The sneakers dial down any fussiness, and add a Sporty Chic element.

I’d been seeing ads for these Vivaia sneakers for a while, and last week one of my lovely color clients showed up wearing them. I loved the look on her, and she couldn’t stop raving about the comfort. I’ve been auditioning sneakers for spring and summer travel, so decided to give them a try. They really are all that! They’re soft and comfortable — cool even in the heat — and the removable insole is well cushioned. The website describes them as “slip-on” but they do have regular laces. They are machine washable, and run true-to-size. (I have a medium width foot, and there’s ease in the toe box, so I think they could accommodate a wider foot.) There are a few colors available in the mesh, and some in a solid fabric.

Now that you’ve seen what I’m wearing this weekend, let’s talk savings — because a few of our favorite retailers are running some really good sales right now. Whether you’re giving your spring wardrobe a refresh, or just looking for that piece that fills a gap, there’s something here for every style and budget. 1. Love this sneaker, wore it all last summer with everything from linen trousers to boho dresses. So comfy the toe box is a great width.

  2. I have a wider-side-of-medium foot and those Vivaia sneakers fit incredibly well. I have their loafers, ballet flats, Mary Janes, and sneaker boots, and all fit me well, wash well, and hold up beautifully. The Mary Janes I bought in almond to take on cruises. They weigh almost nothing, the strap makes them super secure on the foot, and they get me to dinner on board looking polished. I can even wear them on the pool deck.

  3. I am so envious of your beautiful spring weather! Here in Alberta, Canada, it’s -17ºC (1.4ºF) this morning and although the sun is shining, spring seems a long way off. I love the outfit you’re featuring today though and I look forward to eventually being able to put my heavy coat and boots away and dress like that.

  4. Love the Vivaia sneakers. I ordered Cream Ivory Mesh, and received them a month ago. They are in very frequent rotation. Yes, they do fit wider feet. I think it’s because it’s one of the few items that is Unisex, so maybe more toe box width to accommodate men’s feet? They fit right out of the box and are extremely comfortable, with or without footies. I don’t use them as a slip-on, despite what the website says. The angle of the back heel can get hung up in the back of your pants, but a little tug on the pants solves that easily. They will be my long-haul flight shoes for an upcoming Italy cruise. I am actually looking at other Unisex Vivaia now to add to my collection.

  5. loving your hair! And love that sweater. With the brighter white in it, seems it would work for cooler color palette? Maybe with white pants or a pant in the lighter beige in sweater? Wondering what you’d suggest…
    Thx!

    1. Hi Linda, the white in the sweater isn’t as cool as Winter’s optic white. The browns are definitely on the warm side so overall the sweater reads as warm to me. A Brown Summer might be able to wear it, but would be too warm for Winters and most Summers.

  6. Vivaia snakes are still a little narrow for short wide feet tied and sent them back . The New Zealand brand Good sole are great. Wider toe box , trendy colours , larger sizes and can fit orthotics.

  7. Hopefully my store has the top in the smoldering red color. The “white” stripe definitely reads more beige than white on my monitor.

  8. I was able to order the linen pants through your link, but several links still won’t open for me. Not sure why some open and some don’t, but I’m excited about the pants. Thanks!

  9. You look wonderful in this summer outfit. I have been looking at the Vivaia sneakers too. I’ll give them another look.
