The Great Pumpkin - une femme d'un certain âge

The Great Pumpkin

Don’t be afraid of the orange! More of une femme’s Fall Color Faves.

J.Crew calls this color “Pumpkin” but it really looks more ochre to me.

I know, I know, it’s Eileen Fisher, but look at that gorgeous color!

I keep hoping this one will go on sale. Lafayette 148.

There was some good orange during the spring shows.

That’s good to hear. It’s a color I wear well.

As a redhead, I’m always nervous about orange. I’ll wear red, purple and occasionally yellow, but I can’t get myself to try on orange and not have a twinge of horror go through me.

Maybe blue eyed redheads do better in orange because it makes blue eyes standout?

    Maybe in the spring..

I can’t wear orange except in a bag, shoes, belt or cuff — nothing near my face. Too bad, because I love some of the rich fall oranges — and that scarf, mmmmm!

So funny that you’ve posted this – I was just looking at the J. Crew catalog and thinking that I really loved that color even though it probably won’t work for me I’m very drawn to it.

And I love the Eileen Fisher that you show…I’m getting very scared.

I think burnt sienna is one of the most beautiful colors there is, and is a great way to wear “orange”.

Miss J adores oranges and pumpkins. Of course, they’re fabulous on us red heads. These are great.

I say that’s ochre too. My favourite orange is the Hermes saturated one and even if only worn it as a watchband, it’s a gorgeous hue.

Orange in all it’s forms is my favorite color. And I want that scarf!

It’s nto orange, but you have to go to Fabulon to check out Rita Hayworth’s scarf. Miss J loves the way its tied.

Just bought an orange blouse today! I’m embarrassed to say I was actually thinking “Halloween” but thought it would look so good with all the navy items I’ve been buying lately. How serendipitous your post!

I have loads of orange and as it is the colour of my husband’s favorite football team I am always on the look at for something lovely in orange. And, I got the pretty orange pants from Jcrew and I love them!
