Your favorites & mine on sale: wear now, wear later edition

While a lot of items on sale currently are breezy summer styles, I did spot some good buys on classic pieces and those that will transition into fall.

Both this nicely shaped cotton-blend blazer and straight leg pants are currently 30% off. (Use code SHOPNOW) Both the blazer and pants are available in black, navy, and ivory. Regular sizes 00-24, as well as Petite and Tall sizes. (Today’s the last day of this promotion, just FYI.)

This cotton-blend cardigan is such a great throw-on-and-go option. It’s a good weight for cooler summer evenings and into fall. It also washes well in the machine (gentle cycle, cold water, dry flat). Available in four neutral colors, though some colors not available in all sizes.

If you’ve had your eye on one of these classic woven market totes, this one is also 30% off (code SHOPNOW) Summer and fall are peak farmers’ market season, so this could come in handy!

These gold metallic Made-in-Spain espadrilles are so fun, and add such a nice finish to casual summer looks. I’ve been wearing these often when I want to take a break from my sandals. I’m usually a 7.5 in closed shoes, but sized down to a 7 in these. They haven’t stretched out very much with wear.

If metallic isn’t your thing, they’re also available in a few solid (canvas) colors. Some colors (including this gold) are an extra 50% off the sale price, with code SHOPNOW.

I’ve had this long sweater blazer for several seasons, and still love it. It’s currently included in the 30% off promotion (code SHOPNOW). I’m wearing XXS. The v-neck tank (which I’ve also had for several years) is included in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. And the sleek wedge mules are deeply discounted (in other colors too) at Nordstrom Rack.

More sales of note…

Talbot’s – the Red Door Sale is on, with deep discounts on wear-now pieces (additional 50% off all markdowns!)

Brian + MW25% off everything, including my favorite lip, neck & eye firming trio!

Nordstrom – the Anniversary Sale wraps up in a few days. It’s a good time to circle back and check your wishlist to see if anything’s been re-stocked.

  1. I love espadrilles and always have several pairs in rotation. However, I smile to myself remembering the “good old days,” when you could walk through a French market and see baskets and boxes of these shoes, all smashed flat, in amazing colors — for about $10 each. The soles were jute and the uppers cotton — they were intended to last a season and they did. Clearly, those days are long gone.

  2. Hi Susan,

May I make a recommendation to vary your stance a little more in your photos? It would give your newsletter and the clothes you are showing a little more variety/change of pace. No offense, I really love your newsletter otherwise!

    All the best!
