All skate! The best wardrobe basics from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

(And they’re still available!) Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Public Access starts today! Now that everyone can shop, I wanted to share some of my top picks that are still available. (And most still in a good range of sizes and colors.) Keep reading to see more…

The wait is over; today the Anniversary Sale is open to everyone. 🎉 I know it can be frustrating to see some items you’ve had your eye on sell out during the early access week. But it’s been my experience that many popular items get restocked for the Public Access period, so it’s worth checking back to see if any of your favorites are back online.

What’s worth jumping on now…

There are still a lot of items from Vince available, including these brown cotton-blend cigarette pants I highlighted earlier. I just received these over the weekend, and haven’t had a chance to photograph them. The 6 is just borderline too large, so I have the 4 on order to try. (They’re cotton, so I’m anticipating they’ll stretch out a bit with wear.)

I really like and know I’ll be keeping these (in whichever size feels best) and will need to have them hemmed a couple of inches.

I also tried this cashmere sweater which was lovely, but just too long for me. If you’re average height or taller, this is a gorgeous cashmere v-neck, available in 3 colors. It does run a little large, I found the X-Small was best fit. It’s still available in most colors and sizes! (XX-Small to X-Large)

And I tried the ribbed cardigan shown in the collage above. Fit on that one is more true-to-size, the Small was a good fit for me (I’m usually size 4-6). If it weren’t so similar to other pieces already in my wardrobe, I would have kept it. Still available in all sizes (XX-Small to X-Large) in Black, Natural, and Camel.

I have these “Mari” jeans in a different wash, and have been wearing them often. They’re flattering and comfortable, and easy to style. If you like a dark wash with no distressing, this pair should be on your radar…

(Run, don’t walk to grab that brow serum duo in the sale! Stuff really works!!)

Budget-friendly picks

If you’re looking for a less spendy v-neck sweater option, this one is offered in 3 colors and is still available in most sizes.

I saw these in the store but didn’t try them on because they weren’t available in Petites, but this check blazer is very good looking and still available in most sizes.

My newsletter subscribers got an early heads-up on this wool peacoat in the teal color, but this Eggplant is good too, and still available in most sizes.

And I always pick up a bottle of this delicates fabric wash during the sale. I use it for my lingerie and silk items. One bottle usually lasts a whole year.

You can see more of my Anniversary Sale picks in the SHOP!

  1. I shopped the sale last week and was able to order a few Eileen Fisher pieces and some shoes. Generally I was disappointed, I’m a Petite proporation though not a tiny size, it seems most retailers/designers seems to think petite means a size 00-4 but even then the cut for women 5’6″ or taller. I have a very spare style, no ruffles, tiers, smocking, lace, tiny prints…. which seems to dominate fashion these days. And God forbid no distressed or torn jeans. Take all that out and there isn’t a lot left on the sale.
Hopefully the EF pieces will be a decent fit.

    1. Christine, I agree & my style aesthetic/sizing echoes yours- usually I find several Eileen Fisher pieces in the Anniversary Sale but this year, nothing. I too ordered shoes and a pair of Monica Vinader earrings I’ve had my eye on, but nothing else. I found this year’s sale quite disappointing.

    2. Totally different body type and height, but same general aesthetic — chiming in to say I found absolutely nothing in the Anniv Sale. The two EF items I had on my Wish List were immediately gone, and other items I’d saved were, at second glance, not worthy of my cash. Annoyingly, many of the EF items are last year’s items I saw elsewhere months ago, for far less money. And the Longchamp bag that unzips and the Vince loafers I liked were both for sale at Nordstrom Rack for far less money, again months ago. This is not in the spirit of the Anniv Sale! Not sure what’s happening.

  2. I found a lot of Vince items and ordered a few and they all fit. I like EF but find her clothes don’t suit my body shape. I like her material she uses.
