Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Public Access starts today!
The wait is over; today the Anniversary Sale is open to everyone. 🎉 I took a pass through our local store yesterday, and noticed a few more items have been added and/or restocked.
above: a classic loafer updated with a chunky chain detail (also available in black and light mauve)
If you’ve had your eye on something that sold out quickly, you might want to check it again. I have a hunch that Nordstrom restocks some popular items for Public Access. And I’ve rounded up some (available) items I think are worth a second look…
I think some of the best items in the sale this year were from the shoe department. In addition to these (very comfortable) sandals, I also succumbed to the charms of those (also very comfortable) loafers above with the funky chain detail.
If mules are in your footwear repertoire, these are SO cute in person! If the tweed isn’t your thing, they’re also available in several other colors in suede and leather.
Chunky details like lug soles are a big trend for fall. I love crinkle patent, and there are 3 color choices with this style!
Many of you have mentioned that you are fans of these Ilse Jacobsen slip-ons. There are several colors offered, and size availability seems to be good. (These would be great for summer travel!)
Another “fan favorite,” these ECCO sneakers are offered in 3 colors for the sale. White is always classic (and still available in most sizes).
It’s easy to find water-resistant boots in black, but this off-white is kind of a fun change-up.
More water-resistant footwear from the Anniversary Sale
I made a pass through the bag section while I was in the store. There are several good basic bags, but this one stood out. It’s a nice medium size and the leather has a high quality look and feel. There’s both a shorter handle and longer crossbody strap. It includes a smaller pouch too. (It’s offered in black as well, but the details show up better in the tan image.)
For a fun, casual bag that makes a statement, this leopard print camera bag with a webbed canvas crossbody strap is a perfect accent piece. (If leopard isn’t your thing, there’s also a snake print version.)
Just the basics…if you don’t need to carry a lot with you (or are looking for a smaller bag to stash inside a tote) here’s a good-looking and budget-friendly crossbody bag.
I’ve been using Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream as part of my skincare routine for a few years now, and still love it. This skincare trio which also includes serum and eye cream is a good value! More Charlotte Tilbury Anniversary Sale exclusives.
I’ve used Living proof shampoo and conditioner in the past and liked it. I’ve been meaning to try their Dry Shampoo for some time, so decided to snag this set and save.
I think you are right about re-stocking. There was a little camera style purse I had my eye on and was immediately listed as out of stock but I kept checking and after a couple of days it reappeared. Yay!
Thanks for the link to the makeup brushes! I never thought to check the sale for something like that, and I’ve been needing short-handled brushes for travel.
You’re very welcome!
Love your All Skate! I loved roller skating so your reference made me smile.
I LOVE your shoes! Just put them in my cart. You are right; keep watching. I wanted the “bee” earrings for my daughter and even on early access they were sold out. I kept watching my wish list and sure enough, in two days they were available!
Thanks Susan for the ideas I got the red cardigan! So happy!
One thing that will not be restocked for the foreseeable future is Nordstrom’s Delicate Fabric Wash. If you check online, you will see that it is sold out. I went to my local Nordstrom’s in McLean, VA and was advised that they sold out (in-store) the first day of early access and will not be receiving new shipments of the item. In years past, Nordstrom’s has always had a good supply of this very popular item. There are substitutes, but when you compare $9.90 vs. $45.00, I think I’ll pass on the substitutes.
I find the “tweed” jackets interesting. I remember that wonderful “tweed” or “boucle” black jacket you had. I really loved it but my size was always sold out….same size as you! Hope it wasn’t part of your purge last year.
I haven’t seen anything inspiring at the NAS this year.
I agree. I guess it’s just not my year.
I had the same experience with the Delicate Wash and was told by Nordstrom’s that they would not honor the sale price even if they received a new shipment after the sales dates! Very poor customer relations coupled with unappetizing sale items have me rethinking Norsdtroms in general. It’s no longer the same store where I enjoyed shopping in the past.
Financially, Nordstrom Rack is propping up the company as Nordstrom, itself, is suffering.
Well…..I ordered my usual bras and underwear BUT I ordered the Mesphisto Yael sneakers in gold metallic and they arrived today…amazing! Not only are they cute as heck, they are comfy right out of the box and very very on trend which, to my mind, is unusual for Mephisto…I await some more items including bedding. These sneakers, however, are likely to be my winner for this sale!
Susan, may I ask in what size did you order the cardigan? Appreciate recommendation. Thank you
Hi Elizabeth, I ordered the Petite Small.
Thanks Susan! This is helpful.
Thanks Susan. I’m not buying many clothes these days, as I’ll probably be work from home for the next year or two or until I retire I hope. (Super immune compromised and 60+ so staying away from Covid.) However, I am getting tired of wearing t-shirts and shorts or leggings. From now on, as long as it’s not 90 degrees out, I’m wearing one of my “nice” blouses and add the cardigan sweaters in the fall. Plus earrings! The cardigan sweater looked great to wear while working from home. I ordered the red pomegranate, which I think will work with my Summer color palate. I’ll just have to make sure I don’t spill lunch on it!
I feel like we just met for lunch and went shopping. Thank you, I haven’t gotten out much!
Yes, Yes, love the tweed jackets. They are a little reminiscent of Chanel. I especially love it, as you noted with jeans and a tee. A great look.
thanks, Susan, this was fun.
Just ordered the little tweed bag, can’t wait to see it!
Hi Susan, I love the red cardi! What size worked for you? I see it runs large so they recommend sizing down. I am 5” 4” so on the cusp of misses/ petites. Thx!
Hi Kay, I’m wearing the Petite Small and found the size to be perfect. If you’re going to order Misses, you might want to size down. (for me, a Petite S usually corresponds with an XS in Misses.)
Hi Susan, Love this post! I also ordered footwear and especially like the mustard lug sole shoes you mentioned a while ago. May not keep them as I can’t quite figure what to style them with. I will try those darling chain loafers. Since reading your blog I’ve switched from blue denim to mostly ecru denim. I feel the ecru denim gives me a less casual appearance than blue denim but still considered casual. Looking forward to seeing your NAS items styled!
This year’s sale has been very disappointing for me. I think it’s a combination of colors and styles I don’t wear well, sizes available, I’m a true petite proportion with narrow shoulders, short arms, short torso… etc. (I did try sizing down on a sweater I liked, the sleeves were still waaaay too long.) and those items I liked out of stock before I could purchase them – and they haven’t been restocked. I didn’t even find shoes or purses I liked. I ended up purchasing 2 bras, hand cream, and hopefully I can get some lingerie wash (it was OOS at my store).
I realize that this year is a challenge for retailers due to supply chain issues but I’m beginning to think I’m not the customer Nordstrom values.
Hi, just wanted to let you know the link for the off white waterproof boots is leading to the Tulip slip on shoes.
Thanks, I’ve fixed it. Here’s the correct link: https://bit.ly/3iZCuBV
