Your favorites & mine on sale

My inbox has been filling up with sale notices the last few days. So I thought I’d circle back and share some favorite fall styles that are now marked down, as well as flagging some new pieces (also on sale) that I thought you might like.

Women’s fall styles on sale

J.Crew

currently has up to 40% off “dressed up styles.” Whether or not you consider this cute teddy jacket “dressed up,” it’s included in the markdowns at over 40% off. (No code needed.) Classic sizes XS-3X, also available in Petites, and in Navy.

(I was taking style notes in London, and did spot a good number of teddy coats & jackets there. I’ve been wearing this one often on chilly morning and evening dog walks.)

Many of you have mentioned that you are sensitive to wool, and went in for a closer look at this 100% cotton Breton sweater when I featured it previously. It’s now 37% off, and available in sizes XX-Small to 3X.

This merino crewneck comes in a bunch of colors, sizes XX-Small to 3X. I have the brown and navy, but I’m always hearing from you Summers that your colors are hard to find this time of year, so here’s one for you!

I love the laid-back vibe of this lady sweater jacket. Very Scandi-chic! Sizes XX-Small to 3X. It’s 25% off with code SHOPNOW.

Perfect for those days when you want outerwear that’s a bit more polished, and perfect for transitional season wear. And if you live where winters are milder, this boiled wool number may be as much coat as you’ll need. Several colors available, most are 40% off. Classic sizes 00-24, also in Petite and Tall. (I have the Dusty Ivory, great for Springs.)

And these cute & comfy croc-textured ankle boots are marked way down too! (Also in Black & other finishes.) You can see how I wore them here.

Talbot’s

currently has 40% off sweaters, (and shoes & accessories) including this lovely honeycomb cashmere henley. Sizes XS-XXL. (Summers: check out the light blue!)

Polka dots always seem to be popular, and this tinsel dot sweater would be perfect for casual holiday get-togethers. In Misses, Petite, Plus and Plus Petite sizes. Good neutrals for Springs & Autumns.

Madewell

has 40% off your purchase (!!) which isn’t something they do often. Code LETSGO.

I saw a quite a few slightly oversized quilted jackets like this one in the stylish areas of London, on women of all ages. This reminds me of one from Totême, but at a fraction of the price. In Regular & Plus sizes.

I just received this sweater yesterday and haven’t had time to photograph it, but absolutely love it! I went for this lemon color, but it’s also available in a smoky off-white which looks cool on my monitor. Standard & Plus sizes available. It’s also 40% off with code LETSGO.

Susan B wears a Madewell Sutter cropped blazer, red sweater, brown knit lantern pants and brown boots.
BLAZER (ON SALE) | SWEATER (SIMILAR) | PANTS (SIMILAR) | BOOTS

This little plaid blazer has become one of my favorites, and is currently 40% off with code LETSGO. (If you prefer a longer blazer style, this one has a similar look and is also 40% off.)

Bloomingdale’s

I know a lot of you are big fans of MZ Wallace bags, so though you might want to know that they’re included in the current promotion at Bloomingdales. Loyalists get a $25 reward for every $100 spent.

By Brian

  1. Loving your new outfits and your hair! You look fabulous! How is it you’re aging backwards? Greetings from Houston!

  2. Hi Susan,
Great pieces! Does the boiled wool coat run a size big? if i want yo wear a sweater under it, should i get my regular size S?
    Thanks!
    Happy Holidays
    jess xx

    1. Hi Jess, thanks! I think the coat runs TTS. If you plan to layer up a heavier or bulkier sweater underneath, you may want to try a size up.

  3. Hi, Susan. As you’re small like me, –although you have longer legs, lucky you! – I wonder how the lemony, fluffy sweater fits in sleeve length? Also, do you have any insight as to why certain brands, like Madewell, do not offer Petite sizes? I really don’t understand why a brand offers Plus but not Petites. Thanks!

    1. Hi Maeve, I didn’t notice that the sleeves were particularly long on me, but will photograph it soon and share. Madewell does offer some styles in Petites (pants & jeans mostly, the occasional jacket) but it’s try they don’t usually have Petite tops or sweaters.

  4. Another clothing line that you might consider is COS. Clean, sculptural lines, somewhat minimalist, very good quality.

    1. I have purchased a few things at COS over the years, but I find most of their styles are cut for much taller people than I. 😉

  5. Hi Susan,

I think we are the same size so wonder if you might include sizes on the clothing you feature. In particular, what is your size in the J. Crew teddy coat? I am generally a petite (5′ 1″ and about 108 lbs). Sometimes a petite xs and sometimes a petite X. When not petite, just guess-work. Thank you. Jane

  6. Just a quick comment that through your color analysis I would love to know what your wow colors are — with photos of you modeling, if that’s not too big of an ask for a future post someday. Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!!!
